Trying to bring the date forward....

DH said we can't ttc until we get back from our holiday to South Africa and Mauritius in September/Octobe, due to having to take anti-malaria tablets.
I have been researching a lot about these particular tablets and ttc. I haven't found any info that says they are safe to take when ttc. In fact it's a huge no no.

I told DH if we start trying now and i get pregnant before June (a big If!) we will only lose our deposit. DH doesn't want to do this as he really wants to go on this holiday, so do i, but not as much as having a LO.

Think i have a solution though. If i get pregnant before we go we can change the safari part of the holiday, and go to a malaria free zone where we won't need to take malaria tablets. I am sure the charge won't be massive and this way we can still go on holiday.

Does this sound a bit crazy? x

Hi I didn't want to read & run but we got married in Mauritius as it is a beautiful island and a really long flight! I am not sure I could have done it being pregnant!

This holiday does sound amazing and a once in a lifetime thing would waiting an extra month or so to TTC really be that bad?

I guess i am so impatient. lol.

It would mean waiting 6 months, which i know isn't long at all, but you know what it's like x

I would wait and fully enjoy the holiday first and then ttc but hey that's just me. I think you could see it as your last big holiday abroad with your OH before you have the kids. It will fly until then.

I would personally wait that little bit longer and have your amazing holiday and make sure all the malaria medication is out of your system. As Aprilshowers said think of it as you final big blowout holiday with just you and oh before you'll have a baby to plan around.

I'm sure there would be ways to alter your holiday to get around taking the medication but you'd still be in a country which is so different from our own, eating different foods etc and coping with the heat. I know during pregnancy I'd rather know for the safety of my baby that I was close to home and my hospital should anything happen.

I totally know how frustrating it is to wait any length of time but once you get closer to your holiday it'll fly by!

X
