TTC July 2012 - Anyone else? Looking for some buddies.

Well as the title says, anyone else looking to TTC in July?

Right now OH and I are waiting because we will be moving in the middle of April. We want to get moved into our new place and make sure everything is still good financially before we start TTC. July is the month OH is the most comfortable with so that is what we're aiming for. This will also be our first child.

Why are y'all waiting? Will you be TTC #1 as well or do you have LO's already?

Me! We've spoken before and I think we've got a lot in common. I'm waiting to move house before we TTC #1 too. Technically we'll start trying in June but as I've got to know my cycle better it seems July will be the first chance we get to conceive if that makes sense.

J04NN4 I definitely remember talking to you. How is your move preparations going? Are you still looking for a place or have you found one? My OH and I are still searching though yesterday we visited a place and fell in love. We're hoping it will work out for us and we'll be able to move there. The only thing that I'm concerned about is the rent is more than I had wanted.

Twag, how do you think you did on your exams? What were you studying? I just completed my associates of arts in Psychology at the end of last year. And I'll be taking a break to move and TTC before working on a bachelors degree.

We've found one! We went to look round back in November but we've just got round to confirming it with the lady who owns it. Christmas sort of took over and then the lady's mother passed away so she had other things to think about so it's been a stressful time waiting to hear if we could have it. Finally found out yesterday though that she's happy for us to move in May 21st! Yay!

Are you moving far/upgrading to have space for little one etc? Have you looked at many other places or is this one of few candidates? I'm sure if it's your dream place you'll make it work

I'm glad you found one and everything is set for you to move in. I think the not knowing whether you have it or not is definitely the hardest part about moving. It certainly makes it stressful.

We currently live in a 1 bedroom apartment and we want to upgrade to a 2 bedroom with a washer and dryer in the unit for our future LO. Obviously the LO will need a room and I want a washer/dryer in the unit so I can cloth diaper. We considered staying at our current complex and just getting a two bedroom here but paying $1.50 to wash diapers in addition to our regular laundy would add up very quickly.

We actually had a list of 12 potential new homes but I have my heart set on the second place went yesterday. OH loves it and was really excited about having a garage of his own and that makes me like it even more. I'm thinking I don't even want to bother looking at the other places as they're just regular apartments and OH and I are very interested in the townhome style apartments. We need to call in the middle of February to find out if anything is available as there wasn't anything available when we looked. I figure if there isn't anything, we do have two back up options which are both townhome style so I think we'll be fine. I just hope we get our first choice.

Hi Ladies

We are also going to start trying in July. We are getting married in June, so we will probably start after/during the honeymoon in July. I just need to check with the doctors regarding my travel shots interfering with TTC. I've heard that you shouldn't get pregnant when taking the pill to prevent Malaria. We are planning on going to South America, so not even sure if I need to take Malaria pills

Ooh well it all sounds very exciting! It's not too long to wait now until the middle of February, this year's flying by thank goodness! Is it loads cheaper to do cloth diapers? I mean I know it's better for the environment and in theory I'd like to do it but think maybe I'd be biting off more than I can chew as there's so much to learn already with #1. Maybe with #2!!

And welcome Lovingmylife - a trip to South America sounds fab! I'm pretty sure you will need malaria tablets so maybe something to ask your doctor about. I went to Dominican Republic last year which has a lot of the same requirements travel wise and I took malaria tablets and had shots for Hep A and Typhoid.

Welcome, LovingMyLife and congrats on the wedding. As for the malaria prevention, I think whether or not you need it will depend on where exactly you're going in South America. I would definitely check with your doctor though.

My SIL cloth diapers which is the only reason I'm planning to do it with #1. Without having someone that does it so I could learn more about the different styles and figure out what I like it would probably be more difficult. But for the most part, it is cheaper than regular diapers. And there are one size fits all diapers that can be adjusted to fit your baby as he/she grows. My SIL also resells her used cloth diapers which sell for the same price she bought them so she doesn't lose money on them. So yea, I would say it is much cheaper than regular diapers even when you consider the many times they have to be washed.

My nieces also used to get a lot of diaper rash when she was using regular diapers which hasn't been a problem with cloth diapers since they don't contain all the chemicals regular diapers do which was another thing I liked about the idea of cloth diapering.

Personally, my favorite style are the all in one diapers as they're waterproof and they are most like regular diapers which is why I would recommend these when starting out cloth diapering.

Here is some more information on cloth diapers.

Wow thanks for all the info, will have a proper read tomorrow, it's about my bedtime!

I'm definitely keen if it saves me money and I try to do my bit for the environment too. If it saves on nappy rash as well then it sounds like a no brainer!!
