Is feeling extra emotional part of being broody?

Hi there,

My husband and I have been getting broody for number two recently. We have both been feeling very emotional and sensitive. We BOTH cry on 'Call The MIdwife' and generally feel very soppy at the mo. I cry at the drop of a hat, literally if a hat were to drop on the floor I would feel very sad for it and most probably start blubbing, what's wrong with me, US?

It's kind of embarrassing, I just wondered if anyone else felt the same or knew if it was related?

Yes! I've not cried but have started feeling emotional at things which usually wouldn't affect me, especially anything baby related - I have welled up at things quite easily and had to give the 'watery eye' excuse! Having said that, I have cried at every episode of one born every minute this series.

Most of my emotional energy is tied to thinking about being pregnant 24/7! I keep looking at baby stuff, thinking about nursery decor and wanting the next six months to fly by!

Most of my emotional energy is tied to thinking about being pregnant 24/7! I keep looking at baby stuff, thinking about nursery decor and wanting the next six months to fly by!

When my broodiness goes up more than normal, I get extremely emotional over practically everything. So sad that I can barely watch a laundry soap commercial without welling up...

I think broodiness effects everyone differently. I personally don't find myself getting overly emotional where I will cry at just about everything but I do find that when I'm broody baby related things make me feel a tad depressed.

I almost broke down in the baby section of a department store two weeks ago!!

Does that count?

I was looking at the most adorable little outfits and I wanted so much to buy them, but we're not even trying yet. I got so emotional, the worst is that I was by myself. I got all choked in the throat and my eyes teared up. I had to calm myself before someone saw me!!
I have been VERY emotional around the house and crying a lot. I can laugh about it now because I'm feeling so much better. A week ago, I was a total wreck! My emotions have definitely been on a roller coaster lately.

My husband hasn't cried, nor would he. He's happy.

I hate hormones!
