I do Zumba, hip hop dancing, Pilates, circuit training, resistance training with bands and jump rope. I also run occasionally and will do that more when it warms up. I want to be in the best shape possible before I get pg so I can continue and stay healthy through my pregnancy.

Hi MindUtopia
Another keen runner and cyclist here! I also did a couple of half marathons and a full marathon last year. Am in the same situation as you though- don't have much time to train this year due to long work hours/ extra studying etc.
I have been doing a few long(ish) cycle rides recently though and have been enjoying that loads. Partner and I are going to go cycle touring in France in August, and as we are going to start TTC in March if I do fall pg before then, I will have to just take it easy and not do too many miles each day.

I'm a horse owner - riding is my sport

DH asked me to stop riding when I was pregnant with LO, so I did.

I will not ride through the next pregnancy either so once my horse comes back from his loan home at the end of this season I will be enjoying getting back in the saddle until we get our next BFP!

I do a few outdoor sports, the main ones being hiking, climbing, mountain biking and surfing. When I was pregnant with Tom I stopped mountain biking straight away due to risk of falling off! I stopped climbing at around 4 months preg due to my harness not fitting, although when in work at an outdoor ed centre I would have to wear a full body harness past 5 months preg when doing abseiling and zipwire sessions but I didn't wanna risk it with climbing; I stopped working on these activities at around 8 months preg as it was too much and stuck to sailing on calm days and canoeing!

I stopped surfing at 6 months as my wetsuit wouldn't fit me anymore I looked like a beached whale!!

But hiking I kept on going until about a week before Tom was born, I live in Snowdonia and walked up a 3000ft peak in my 7th month.

I was too scared to run though haha!! but now I'm wwt #2 I don't get much time to myself to get out, though Tom can come hiking with me

Oh, this is super reassuring though! We also hike a lot, but I wasn't sure if I should think about cutting it down or out altogether when we are PG. We live in a really hilly area of Dorset where you really can't go in any direction very long without a massive hill climb. I wasn't sure if I should be doing that or not, though I'd love to keep with it since I'll be cutting down on running eventually. We did 14 miles yesterday and it was gorgeous. But if you made it up Mt. Snowden while pregnant, then I have more faith now!

Funny enough, when we got engaged, my husband took us up to the top of a very steep hill/mountain around the San Francisco Bay (where we lived at the time) and I almost died halfway up to the top. But just as I sat down to catch my breath, a women who looked to be about 7-8 months pregnant ran past us towards the summit! We always laugh about this now. I guess anything is possible if you stay in shape.

I love hiking and I was a bit concerned at 1st about whether I would be able to carry it on so I went to see my GP about it and she praised it for all it's worth! She said she was hiking right in to her 9th month and it's a great form or excercise without the stress!

I did find that I was quite out of breath though, mainly due to the hormones and feet in my ribs
