Confused by him.

It's been well of half a decade being with my other half. On Saturday we were looking through real-estate and he said he wanted a four bedroom house.

I said "Why do we need a four bedroom house."

His reponse "For three kids duh."

Twenty minutes later he said to me "The reason I haven't gotten you pregnant is because you will compare our child with your sister's kid and your best friend's kid."

This left me confused. I wouldn't compare a child with any other child as a child is a being that grows on their own.

So it left me so confused by his conversation. Just wanted to get it out there.

um, that all sounds a bit weird to me! Maybe you guys need to sit down and chat about where you are eg. when you want to TTC and anything that is stopping you or him from feeling like it is a good idea.

Hope you manage to sort it out with him, I really do think that you need to sit down and talk to him about what he meant by it though or else it will continue to play on your mind.

Maybe he mean compare as in their parenting styles rather than child itself? And maybe he's worried that they will try and influence your parenting? He prob just wants to bring children up when he's not going to get mythered by other parents with young children??

Has your sister or your friend just recently given birth?

To be honest even the lovliest of women can become a teeny bit competitive when it comes to having LO's close in age.

Was your OH just being considerate and wanting you to soley enjoy the 'different' stage your baby will be at? Has he seen some jealousy in other women before?

That comment is confusing, I personally have no idea what he was trying to say. Maybe you should sit down and talk to him about it and why he thinks you will try to compare your kids to your sisters and best friends.

Yeah id sit him down and ask him what he ment.
Its not that i compare my friends and i talk about what our child can do and what theirs can do. We find it amazing that mine can talk well where theirs are soo far in their physical development!
