how to cope when ttc date is put back???

hi ladies

just wondering if anyone else has had to put their date back?

we were planning on ttc in May/June however my bro in law and gf have recently found out they expecting twins therefor we can no longer just presume his Mum would look after another why we work also my Dad has DD one day and he wouldnt be able cope with 2 so therfore we need to ensure we can manage childcare without asking anyone for help.

so we have decided on aug.

So our idea is that by the time baby 2 is born and i have 6months off work DD1 will only have 3 months before she gets her free 15 hours so childcare seems more managable also we have a few weddings this year, big bdays, a holiday and the twins being born also would like a may/june baby, dd1 is november so there is a nice gap.

it all makes sense but i am gutted i am so broody, i know we have something on each month and my dd gives me lots of pleasure but how else can i make myself feel better and not let this get me down?? i only had 2 more cycles then we were going to start trying now its 6 whole months away!!

sorry for the rant just had to get off my chest

So sorry you are having to put your date back a bit. Just wanted to let you know you aren't the only one feeling down about this. We've also had to move our date back (only by a month at this point, and hopefully not much more if things turn out okay) just because of some health problems I've been having. I have to have a procedure the week we were planning to start, but if all goes well, we should be back on track for the following month. It was really depressing at first. I know it's only a month, but it was still a let down. But it's really helped me to focus on the positives - for us this is that we get to have two more holidays (well, one is an actual holiday and the other is a family wedding, but it's still a weekend away) before the earliest when I could be PG. This means some extra couple time for us, plus no stressing about ovulation and timing on our first proper holiday. It also moves us out of the Xmas baby range and took the stress off of me worrying about my health and getting ready to TTC at the same time (and feeling like I was failing miserably at both). It also means I get an extra month to get in shape now that spring is coming. I've really tried to focus on all these things and how they can only work to our advantage at TTC and having a healthy and less stressful pregnancy. It sounds like your situation is similar in the sense that you'll be putting yourselves in a better position to enjoy your pregnancy and make sure your LO is in a good spot to welcome a brother or sister too, and those things can only be great for everyone.

Hope those months go by quickly for you too!

I'm so sorry you have to put your TTC date back. There is a chance OH and I will have to put ours back too and it certainly isn't a pleasant thought. Sorry I don't have much advice to offer you.

I'm not sure how many months it may have to be put back. OH and I are moving in April so whether or not we can TTC in July will depend on whether or not we are still doing well financially. Hopefully if we have to put it back some it won't be more than a couple months but there is just no way of knowing until after we move and see exactly how much our bills have changed.
