Hi girls,

Some of you may remember me mentioning a few weeks ago having problems with AF since coming off my pill in November. Well, it has now been almost a month since my period was due and still no sign of my monthly friend so I had an appointment with the doctor this morning to see if there was anything to be worried about (if you are a newbie or dont remember my original post, I'm definately not pregnant). She wasn't too concerned and said it can happen when coming off the pill so it should return within the next month or two.

The doctor did say that average time for conception with your first baby is 9 months but she also said that it is just an average and people can conceive sooner but it can take longer. So, me and DH were talking about how you cannot predict your conception and we could wait til end of July as planned but if it takes a while then it could be four months wasted. We also both agreed that if I were to get pregnant now then we would both be happy about it. I mentioned to the doctor about the fact that we are going on holiday and she said I would be fine to fly long haul which made me feel better.

So, in a nutshell, we are bringing TTC forward and going to start now but (hopefully) stay quite relaxed about it. I'm also not ready to leave this forum and jump to TTC because I've not posted at all or stalked that one and you have all made me feel so welcome. I have learned a lot from you and enjoy posting so intend to stay. I may start looking at TTC forum but I a happy here xx

Vikster, such awesome news!!! Yeah, I got the same from my GP when I saw her in the fall (something along the lines of "You're 31? And you want to have kids still? Don't put that off much longer and don't get discouraged if it takes 6-12 months!"). Hooray! We'll be trying around the same time then - we are starting in about 3 weeks when we get back from our holiday (I needed one last big blow-out of traveling and eating and drinking though). Congrats!! You must be so excited!

Ooh I would love a buddy mind utopia. Only downside if I was to fall pregnant before my hol is that I wouldn't be able to drink on holiday but if it is meant to be that I get pregnant then so be it xx

I think this is so true. I needed one last big (drinking included) holiday, but we went back and forth for a long time trying to decide if we should wait until after I have to travel for work in July/August. It's not a holiday, but I did worry about having to drag my suitcase all over and maybe being sick while I should have been working. But like you say, you never know how long it will take, so as long as you feel ready now, there is no reason to wait. Whatever is meant to happen will for you (hopefully me too!), will when it's time.
