Anyone else with arthritis in hips

So after suffering 10 years with bad back I decided 2 go to a ciropractor as all the doctors kept telling me was my back was bad because I'm tall. The ciropractor said he was pretty certain I had arthritis in my hips which after many scans and X-rays has been confirmed. I was just wondering if there were any other ladies out there that had had children with the same thing and did it effect you through pregnancy?

It's a constant dull ache through my back and hips. It's gets worse with exercise and I get problems when bending over and standing up straight after (not gud as I'm a hairdresser lol) I get sharp pains that go thru my hips and I also get a lot of sciatica and the muscles in my back are scrambled. Is basically a compleat mess. Lol

I was a professional dancer and suffered severe arthritis in my hips. I had a hip replacement about 2 and a half years ago (I'm 28) and feel fantastic. However, my hips do bother me sometimes when BD. I also get some sciatica and the tendons have flare ups from time to time. I spoke with my surgeon a year ago and he said that many women have hip replacements and go on to deliver vaginally without complications. Even the shifting of my pelvis and extra weight and pressure on my hips should have no effect on the prosthesis.

I would recommend talking to your doctor about your plans and work together to find the best way to approach any anticipated problems. When are you planning to TTC? If you have some time I would suggest doing what you can to take down any inflammation and also do some physical therapy to strengthen and prepare your hips and back for the extra strain.

I hope that helps...if you have any more questions, ask away! I have gone through hip problems for the last 10 years.

I don't have athritis no, but I do have other back issues...my spine was out of allignment around 11 years ago and I required 3 months of physio etc to correct it. As a result my back is very weak and always painful. Pregnancy did put a bigger strain on it and made it more painful but giving birth was fine. I have no problems with my hips...a bit of sciatica now and again but basically fine!

I think exercise, getting stronger and physio would be a good place to start.
