Hi!
Im doing WW atm, and have been doing fine with the calculator and just normal digital kitchen scales. I use the WW portion sizes for weighable things and use my normal scales - the calculator is a must though!

just out of curiosity do you have a iphone or itouch? if so, when you join and pay by monthly pass you can download a free weightwatchers app and there is a fantastic calculator, you can work out any foods, search loads of foods, especially useful when eating out and can save your favourite foods. I really couldnt reccomend it enough

I also agree you don't really need the kitchen scales, I never use the other function for working out points - I just weighed what I needed and worked it out from the packaging.
