when to start with cows milk?

I know they recommend 12 months but when did you start giving your LO cows milk instead of formula?

i have making up ali's porridge with it and he has it with his meals too (pasta etc). i plan to give it as a drink when he is one (in less than 2 months time CAN YOU BELIEVE IT!!!!). The nursery he goes to give it to the children as a drink at snack times but i am not sure to do it before 12months, i a bit of a bore when it come to rules etc (scarde of my HV lol).

I've been pondering the same thing. They say cows milk plus sippy cups instead of bottles at 12 months. I don't want to shock him and do both at once so I'm just debating whether to try swith to sippy cups first or the cows milk.

Also, the formula he gets has a stage 3 Milk for young kids with is an alternative to cows milk. Now sure whether I should use this or normal milk.

Sorry, I know I'm not helping u, I have the same questions.

Trying milk with his cereal for the first time tomorrow morning though, will see how it goes.

I also use it with cereals and stuff and shes fine on it

no christine CANNOT believe how quick our LOs will be 12 months

I personally think i may try it before 12 months... I mean my HV said when I asked her about the fact she only has 2 bottles at 7oz and it says on the tin to have at least 16oz and she said its fine cos her diet is very nutricious (sp?)!!

Good luck tomorrow ratty

To get her used to it a couple of times I have given Grace cows' milk instead of formula but I still intend to use formula mainly for a while yet

We'll give it to Hannah in a sippy cup at a year. Honestly don't see switching being a problem as her formula intake is also very very low

I have been using it to cook with for Jasmine for awhile now and will liekly give some in a sippy before a year because I have been told switching helps with reflux.
