Is 5 months to early to wean?

I have been giving my son solids since he was a month old, as he was waking up and having 20oz of milk in the morning, my hv was fine with this, it was fruit in the morning and veg in the evening, he's now 5 months and she wants me to wean him already? He loves his food, but he also loves his milk, and I love giving him a bottle, since I am not able to breastfeed him, it's my favorite way to bond 1-1 with him. I don't want him off milk yet, but she does. Would you ladies say it was to early?

Typically a 5 month old takes 4-5 bottles with 6-7oz formula a day.
When ur hv means wean i would think she wouldnt mean completly maybe she ment add another 'meal' in the afternoon?

that's kinda odd. Breast milk or formula should be baby's most important source of nutrition for the first year. Ya you can give him solids on the side but milk is still main meal.

Yes as the others have said, milk is needed for the first year. She will most probably mean to introduce more foods.

pureed fruit for breakfast, and pureed veg for dinner, I started by giving him baby rice, but he refused to eat any food from boxes/pre-made tins.
I told her I had given him breakfast which she said was fine, then told me to give him a meal at night.

She didn't mean 3 meals, her words were 'so, have you started 3 meals and started to cut down his milk yet, to wean him off of it? Because I'd like to start that and he could be fully weaned and eating meals with you by 6 months'
