Home Made Food Idea's For A 7 Month Old

Hi there my LO will be 7 months old tomorrow and i'm stuck for recipe idea's for her meals, I've been giving her jar foods but would like to give her home made food, I've invested in a blender i'm just stuck for idea's, recipe wise! Also which finger food's to give, I've tried her on toast, banana and cucumber (she loves cucumber!) Also when I make up homemade food do I put any of her formula milk in???

Any suggestions or idea's would be greatly welcome!

Pasta has been going down well with my LO since she was 7 months. Her favourite is the twist type pasta with a really basic homemade tomato sauce.
Also she loves omelettes, fish fingers, butternut squash, sweet or normal potato wedges, tender pieces of meat, risotto, anything tbh.

I don't about about pureed or mashed food though sorry.

Mashed/pureed vegetables ... swede, carrot, potato, cauliflower, yams, sweet potato, broccoli, kale, peas.

It's a good idea to mash them individually and then create different blends to see which ones your LO likes best

Meats:
Chicken thighs can be poached in water and then pureed with a little of the cooking water (dark meat purees better than breast meat).

Lambs hearts can be casseroled in water and then pureed (the hearts puree better than actual lamb as they have the flavour but arent so stringy)

Poach chicken livers in water and mash

Poach fish in a little formula milk

The puree'd meats/fish can be added to different vegetable purees to create a variety of different meals

Tomato sauces are easily made from tinned tomatoes and a little cornflour to thicken.

Cheese sauces can be made with formula milk and again thickened with cornflour

Parsley sauce with fresh parsley, formula milk and cornflour .... etc etc

I used to set myself a 'baby food cooking' day and freeze individual veggies/meats in ice cube trays - tap them out and store in individual 'flavour' bags. When I wanted to 'make' a meal I just selected different cubes, put them in a feeding bowl, defrosted, mixed, heated and served

You can use cows milk from 6 months in cooking, therefore I give my 7.5 LO cauliflower cheese, mashed up.

Mashed potato & baked beans - I add extra milk to make it more creamy/wet.

Boil-in-the-bag fish, with mash & peas.

Annabel Karmel recipes are easy to follow. Your library should have her books.

Annabelle loves macaroni cheese, cauliflower cheese and cottage pie.

I also made her a tuna melt toasted sandwich yesterday which went down really well -- although it was very messy!

Another hit was salmon fillet and mashed potatoes. I try and give her the types of food we eat ourselves - makes it easier for me and she loves us eating together.
