BLW for two months - now need some advice

I've been BLW since Oliver was 5 months old and he is now 7 months. I took him to get weighed this week and he has jumped up from the 75th percentile to 91st percentile...

I am still overfeeding him, obviously on milk (he drinks 1L a day and has done so for 3 or 4 months)! Up until now, we have only been doing BLW for breakfast and then snacks OR a second meal per day...so he isn't over eating on food.

So on the HV's advice, I have now moved him up to three meals a day and am trying to cut back on the milk (have cut it by 30%). She also suggested I feed him solids before I give him milk, that way he will eat more and hopefully need less milk.

Can I ask how you feed solids and milk? Oliver seems fine in the mornings to do this, but at lunch and dinner he gets really frustrated and is really hungry, so as soon as he has given the solids a good go, I feed him his milk (he is usaully crying by this stage).

Is it bad to be giving milk straight afterwards (will he associate meal times with always being given milk) or should I try to make him wait half an hour after each solid feed so he doesn't associate them together? I am also worried he may stop trying to eat solids if he knows he can get full up on his milk instead.

Any advice? I feel completely lost all over again and so guilty about over feeding him!

Dont feel guilty, I dont think you can really over feed on milk as they say food is fun up until one? TBH I dont think you will ever win with HVs. Finnley dropped from 99th to 92nd centile when we started BLW and she made me feel bad for that, even though hes gone back up to the 99th again

Here is finnleys rough routine to give you an idea of what we do#

7am bottle
9am breakfast
11.30am bottle
12.30 lunch
4pm dinner
6.30 bedtime bottle

HTH x

lol everyone said i was overfeeding EJ when he was younger and i was expressing full time so he was having my milk via a bottle he would down 50oz in a day but he needed it hes a big boy was on the 99.6centile at birth and hasnt dropped off it yet, well i havent weighed him since we started BLW and tbh unless i see hes dropped weight then i probably wont care too much about his weight, i only really weigh him so i know what size clothes i ought to have him in lol. he eats solids 3 times a day now plus feeds 6-10times in 24 hours im pretty much back to exclusively BF now but im betting hes still getting his 50oz a day
