Water question and sucking from sippy cups

Max has a doidy cup which he drinks well from, but I want him to drink out of a sippy cup which has a lid and I can put it in his bag.

But he just chews and chews on it. How can I get him to suck instead?

And how much water should LO have a day? Max's poos have become a lot harder the past couple of days so I want to get more water into him, but don't know how much he should have

No advice on getting him to drink through a spout, but I do have a possible solution. If you get a TT folding lid free flow cup, you can just take the lid off for him and it has a smooth top he can drink from. Then you can just put it back on to go in your bag!

Hi hun, at 7 months Omar was only taking 2-3 oz. As for the cup we use a spout cup, he also started by chewing the teat then he learned how to suck from it, just keep offering until he gets used to it. Omar started to drink more at around 10 months. He takes around 7-8 oz. xx

try something like this first, http://sphotos.ak.fbcdn.net/hphotos-..._4502280_n.jpg now that luke is used to this one, he'll drink from one he needs to suck because he understands that drink comes out of the spout

Also I think you should just offer him water with each meal and see if that helps. but I'm not really sure tbh

i would start with a TT free flow one so that the water trickles into his mouth at first. once he has the hang of that one you can progress to a no spill type beaker.

What about a straw cup or a sports bottle type thing. The sports bottles are the only non spill bottles Ruby will drink from, and even then she finds it frustrating...

Anna started on the tommee tippee free-flow cup around 7 months and it would only be a few sips.

It was only around 9 months that she actually wanted to drink - she now takes about 3oz a day of water/or sometimes with a few drops of dilute juice. in.

We started with the tommy tippee free flow cup at about 6 months. It's been a slow business, he can now just about pick it up and take a few sips but it mainly all dribbles out again. He like to blow bubbles in it mainly! So no advice really, I'd just advise patience!
