Don't fiver though baby's put everything in their mouths so that alone isent a sign, what they do with it once it's in their mouth is a better idea,

DS steals toast and I have to be quick to get a hold of that before it is devoured, but won't eat baby food. In fact hates baby food. He will swallow baby cereal but only if he is laughing at me!! Otherwise he hangs his tongue of his mouth (not tongue thrust) and pulls the bib up to wipe it off!!

This is really just a 'bump'.

Imo there is no need to water her food down with rice if for eg, she takes carrot or pear on its own. The way ive always assumed is that food mixed with rice is to make the taste more bland so that little taste buds dont go into shock! Saying that, if they like something without adding rice, why bother?
Just be careful of going too fast, because even though she might want to eat it, a lot at once might make her constipated. Try and pace her and offer plenty of water.
We started weaning at 24 weeks and give a mixture of finger food and spoon fed food, i dont puree though, if she can take finger food she can handle lumps, ie stew today. As you LO is so young i would just keep it simple for now. hth
