I steam a few carrots and keep them in a fridge in a food container. When it is time to feed LO, I put the carrots (or peas, or pears, etc) in the blender and mix it up fresh, but you can make a big batch and freeze also.
you can but ice cube tray for storage and freeze them in ziploc bags or if you find the ice cube tray with a lid it works great.

Love the freezer tray idea. Then I could pop the cubes out, and put in baggies when leaving the house and spoon feed from there?

How do you thaw the food and does it thaw out in a smooth pureed texture?

microwave works well and in a plastic bag in warm water. the textures always been good when thawed.
If you freeze baby food remember to date it it really doesn't keep well after 3 months.

Will have the whole freezer dedicated to breast milk and baby food!

Doesn't microwave get rid of some of the nutrients?

I agree, not a fan of the preservatives.

OH was saying we would be better off convenience wise with buygin baby food and its just as healthy and I let him know that anything that can sit on a shelf for that long is not very natural!

So, think we've decided on the baby bullet. Looked at the Brezza and didnt' c ome with anything else so was a lot extra to buy.

Any other thoughts out there?

I just did the ice cube thing this weekend with some oatmeal. Worked great. Reheated in the microwave, mixed with some slices of pear in the baby bullet, mmmm, breakfast for baby.

I had purchased a box of oatmeal flakes for the baby, but it just tasted....odd. I wouldn't want to eat it. So I used the bullet to grind up regular oats, cooked them, put in the ice cube tray, froze them, popped them out, and put the in ziploc bags. It was a little more work than just measuring and adding water to the store oatmeal, but I would actually eat the stuff I made.

I bought my baby bullet last night! woo hoo! I gotta begin. Think I am making some carrots and some peas. Thats a good idea about the oats too. I have never bought oats, is it just sold in a bag in the cereal section of the grocery store?

Hope you like your bullet.

Yeah, oats are in the cereal aisle. Usually low on the shelf, in a round canister. The bullet book has a 'recipe' for making baby oatmeal, I only do about half the water they suggest. It is pretty runny.

Good luck!
