Making baby food

Anyone have a good technique they used to make baby food? i am reading reviews on all advertised "baby food processor" systems and they're not getting the best reveiws....

Also, exactly what was your process of making and storing?

A friend gave us a Baby Bullet. At the time, I was like, "thankssssss." Now I use it all the time.

I make brown rice cereal with it. We steam carrots and blend them up in the Bullet. Overcook peas and blend them. Steamed fruits. The Bullet came with a recipe book and enough storage for 12 servings. It has a silicone tray for the freezer.

I would never have bought it on my own, but now I can't live without it.

I take 1/2 cup of brown rice, grind it up, cook it with 2 cups of water, that lasts us about a week right now. She has rice mixed with fruit or veggies for dinner. I bought some extra storage cups so I could freeze some up and use as needed. It came with 2 blender bowls, one is large that I never use, we blend and feed from the smaller bowl.

I am pretty sure you can accomplish the same thing with another food processor type product. I have no idea how much the bullet costs, probably a lot. The friends that bought it for us make a lot of money, but are terribly irresponsible with it.

Its actually the cheap one on the market! Just $60! Maybe i'll keep it since it can allow me to make enough to store. I didn't want to have to make only enough for each meal.

What?? $60 for that thing? Nuts.

When we first introduced rice, one batch lasted well over a week. My 1/2 cup will give us still at least 6 meals, because I add/mix it with the carrots, or peas, or pears.

You would need to buy additional storage, but sure. I have used the large mixing bowl to blend two cans of stewed tomatoes for a beef stew before, so the bowl is definitely big enough. It came with 6 little (2 oz) storage cups with lids, and a silicone freezer tray with 6 2 oz compartments.

I steam a few carrots and keep them in a fridge in a food container. When it is time to feed LO, I put the carrots (or peas, or pears, etc) in the blender and mix it up fresh, but you can make a big batch and freeze also.

I LOVE my Baby Brezza because I can dump it all in, cook and blend in one go. One thing to clean up. No thinking involved. You can make plenty at once in the Brezza, not sure about the bullet. I make one ice cube tray full at a time, dump in freezer bags, label and then make a few other things. I only make food once every week or every other week.

The only thing I have had a hard time with is green beans and peas. Now that she is older I just mash her peas, but green beans I still by commercially if needed because it takes more effort than I am willing to put out.

Also, I have steamed our own dumplings in the BB, and made various home made soups (squash, cauliflower and tomato) in the Brezza too. Haha.

Brezza is the one I was eyeing because I like the steamer! I want to clean as little as possible. Both sound good though so can't go wrong I dnt think!
