When to wean if showing none of the signs

My LO is 5 1/2 mths though I think he will be quite some time before he can sit alone etc. If he doesn't show the signs for weaning then do I wait longer? He was born 4 weeks early but size wise has caught up!

Does he show interest in your food?
Can he sit in a highchair?
My lo set unadid at 7 month for the first time, but we started BLW at 5.5. He could sit in high chair though.
I think what you can do is to let him sit in a high chair at mealtimes with you, and see how he reacts.

If he sits ok, and show interest you could share something like banana with him, and see how he manages.

I assume u want to do BLW?

Yes BLW. I think LO may be ready in a month or so as he does watch us as we eat and is just starting to co-ordinate his hands and holding objects :-) He just topples forward when in a sitting position, still not very strong in his back.

I would start putting lo in a highchair and pop a few bits in front him while you are eating. He may play with it, he may not, but its a great way to start introducing the idea of food.
