Baby 8.5 months - this is what he eats (having problems as wont use tippy cup) HELP

My baby eats the following but still wants/likes to have a bottle after each meal. I'm trying to get him to use a tippy cup as he starts at nursery next week and they have said he shouldn't still be on bottles ( this surprised me as I had no idea....oops).

He will have a little water in a tippy cup but only tiny sips but if I try to give him his formula in one he won't take it at all (only from a bottle - and he drinks all of it every time)

I have bought pretty much every style of tippy cup that boots sells hoping that one might be one that he likes lol!,,

Breakfast: porridge, fruit pot or mashed banana and 6fl oz formula from bottle

Lunch: jar of lumpy baby food (7m+ type) or mashed fish/veg etc and 6 fl oz formula

Tea: jar of lumpy baby food/mashed food if what I'm having is suitable and 6 fl oz formula

Before bed:6 fl oz formula

His weight gain is steady and he's not under or over weight.

Help!

Sounds like a pretty normal and fine routine to me. My 9m 1w old is on a pretty similar pattern but has less formula. My lo doesnt take a sippy cup either and thb, your nursery should just feed your lo the way that suits him (bottle) so I would have a chat. I dont know any 9m olds that take volumes of liquid from a sippy cup x

Edited to add - if you want to reduce the amount of formula top up after each meal, maybe introduce a yoghurt as pudding, or some sort of custard dessert x

My LO is 1 next week and he still doesn't take a cup. I found a Cup/bottle from Boots with a spout on it which he now loves but that's just for his juice, I am happy with him having his milk from a bottle still.

How about giving him bottles between meals. Bobby has a bottle when he wakes, then breakfast a hour or so later, lunch at midday, a bottle at 3pm, dinner at about 5pm then a bottle at bedtime which is 7pm.

The nursery shouldn't be telling you what to do you should be telling them what to do (this coming from a nursery nurse)
