High calorie diet.....

Hi, my little boy was a prem now 7 and a half months old and loves food but not keen on bottles. So dietitian has advised to give a high calorie diet. I make most food fresh and add butter, formula milk, cheese.

Does anyone have any recepie ideas for me? Anyone know how to make mousse without eggs?

He has had-

Veggies, potato, sweet potato, broth, spag Bol, cheesy leek, salmon purée, chicken casserole, framage frais, puréed fruit, porage, weatabix.

I have made rice pudding last night we shall see how that goes down :-)

Thanks xxxx

I'd say plenty of dairy, meat, eggs, fish, avacado. Can you just make your normal meals with no added salt and give them? Either mashed up or as finger food.

I'd say avacado is a definite, and a little butter added to potatoes etc.

My second eldest had to have a high calorie diet as he was born big but then gained hardly anything in the middle six months of his first year due to allergies, the added difficulty with him was he was severely allergic to eggs and dairy, so he had a lot of bananas and avocados (up to 3 of each a day!), and lots of stuff made with vegetable shortening/ghee and vegan margarine. It certainly worked as he went from the 0.4th centile to the 75th in a year xx
