Jobseekers allowance rules if not returning to work after maternity leave?

Just wondering if you are entiteld to JSA or equivalent if you've decided not to return to work after maternity leave and how many hours work are you expected to look for - ie full time or part time?

if your a single you get income support and you have to attend work focus interviews but they can not force you to look for work until your child is about 7 or 12 years old..
I am not sure about if your married or living with a partner.. as they maybe expect them to 'keep you' sort of thing... best thing to do it ring up your local job centre and ask...

Good luck xx

if you choose not to back to work and have a partner I don't think you can get much apart from WTC & CTC.

You can't get JSA as that means you a 'seeking work' not staying at home.

best speak to CAB or job centre re this
