Not sure about down south but in Scotland we spread our council tax payments over 10 months of the year instead of 12. We get a break for our monthly payment in January and February (I think or maybe its February and March?).

Anyway, its not FREE, it just means you may more monthly for 10 months than pay less over 12 months...

You can choose whether you pay over 10 or 12 months but the norm is 10 months.

Do you not have your bill? Where we live the bills just get sent out with 10 payments and we have to request if we want 12. But your council might be different! x

Yes it should say on your bill how many instalments you will be making. I think the free months are Feb and March.

I don't think I do? I'll have a look at my letters from them though. Yeah I heard it was feb and march. I have to go in there to take in my P45 so I will ask when I'm in there. If ours is set over 12 months I dont think we could afford to do higher payments over 10 months, our council tax is 124 a month and considering OH is on a very low wage, we get NO help with it! xx
