studying-NHS courses at uni

Hi, I'm really tangled up trying to sort out what I would be entitled to if I go back to uni. I am thinking of studying midwifery. I already have a primary degree in payhology. I am married, and separated, so do I need to include my ex's income even though i don't get any of it? I would be grateful if anyone could answer any of the questions I have.

Is the midwifery course full funded by the NHS?

Would I be entitled to the non means tested bursary from NHS even though I have a degree already?

Do my tax credits affect the student support I would recieve, or vice versa?

Could I claim housing beneift while studying full time?

Am I entitled to any help towards childcare if studyign full time and have a young child and am single?

Can I still class myself as single even though Im married, but we are separated???

How much of a bursary would I recieve?

How much tax credits would I recieve?

Is there any other benefits I can claim while studyign full time?

Thanks to anyone who attempts to answer any of the questions, really want to consider going back but need to make sure I can afford it and have no clue where to start, I cant make sense of the websites.

Hey I'm a final year student on an NHS degree.

I'm pretty sure the midwifery course is fully funded by the NHS, so you won't have to worry about tuition fees.

You should be entitled to a means tested bursary, I'm not sure whether it will be based on your husband's income or not (I hope not!). Mine is still based on my parent's income even though I moved in with my OH 3 years ago and we're having a baby! I get £230 a month, but that's based on my parent's income. Phone the NHS student bursaries helpline, they're always really helpful.

The NHS will help you with childcare, the amount you will receive depends on whether they take your husband's income into consideration. There's also extra things you can apply for, like the parent's learning allowance.

You should also receive the minimum amount of student loan (around £2200 - £1800 a year, depending on your year of study). You can't apply for any more money from the student loans company because your course is NHS funded.

I'm not sure about housing benefit or tax credits. I'm taking maternity leave and will be claiming housing benefit and tax credits whilst I'm on maternity leave. Your best bet is to phone the HMRC and ask.

You won't have to pay any council tax, providing there are no other adults in your household that work.

Good luck with everything
