plz help anyone

my partner business fold in jan 2012 and since then we have been on jsa,
i recently found out my daughter nearly 20weeks pregnant,she is 17 and in college could someone plz tell me wot benefits shes entitled to,i am claiming child tax credit for her,and child benefit,will she get a grant?i dont know google says no so id thought id post here,plz help,many thanks

why would you be asking this in teen pregnancy? we aren't lawyers.. and where do you live?

Sorry we can't really help with that...there is a woman on here who is a lawyer, but I really think contacting one in your own area would be best, even just as a consultation.

It wasn't necessary for others to be a little rude. The pregnancy grants do no longer exist, unless it's her first baby therefore she's entitled to the maternity grant. I don't think she can claim child + tax credit if you're still claiming for her, but if you stopped she'd be able to do that too. But not 100% sure, so perhaps you'd have to get more info from your area. eg jobcenter plus, ect.

When the baby is here she can claim Child benefit and Child tax credit for the baby. I don't think she will be entitled to income support as she is living with you and in full time education (this was the case for me when I had my son). I had my son when I was 17 and I was at full time college living with my parents. I got all of the above

For any extra advise I would advise your daughter to go to connexions x

I just have no patience for people with no common sense who give no background story or what area they live in (so we can actually give advice) or point them in the right direction.

The fact she mentioned child tax credit, child benefit and JSA told me she lived in the UK I don't think everyone realises this is an international website

i'm 17, in 6th form and from the uk so i'll put a bit what i've been told i can claim

she can claim income support from when she becomes a mother if she's still living with you, but if she's living on her own then she can claim it straight away when she's pregnant

i'd recommend that instead of job seekers allowance as you get more + she's still at college

if she wants to carry on in college, there's a programme for under 20's which enables them to claim up to £160 a week for nursery fees (£175 if you live in london) plus transport costs to and from nursery

it's called Care To Learn.
and then obv she gets her maternity grant from sure start which is £500
