Furnishing Grant?

Hi has anyone had one of these or know anything about them?

I am moving from my parents house into rented accomodation which is unfurnished, and wont be able to afford everything by myself. Just wondering if anyone knows the rough amount they would help towards furniture for a 2 bed flat.
I need literally everything apart from my bed and son's.

I don't know about any grants but do know (from experience) that it's possible to set-up house with very little. Takes flexibility, creativity, some patience and many trips to charity shops and car boot/yard sales. I've done it! You can, too! Make a list by priority and stick to it! Don't get swayed by nice, unnecessary things. So, for example, you'll need basic kitchen things first. Get them before giving in to that really nice table for the entryway (for example).

Good luck!

Not answering the question but I agree with sowanted ... also check out Freecycle if there's a branch in your area. We have got some lovely things on Freecycle and have also offered some really good stuff.
