Concerned about bleeding

Hi all. It's been a long time since I posted on here

I am a little worried. I had a period at the beginning of June. I didn't have one for about 2 months. Mine have been all over the place the last few years. I wasn't heavy. It was a lighter period than what I normally have. Then it stopped after 3/4 days. Then about 5 days later I start bleeding again. Now I've been bleeding on and off for 3 weeks. When it looks like it's stopped it starts again in full force. I'm starting to worry if it could be cervical cancer. Any advice please

I would just see your doctor. I had this a few years ago and it lasted 6 weeks. They did a transvaginal ultrasound to check for fibroids and did a smear to check my cervix, but no obvious explanation. I had skipped my pill break the month before so had intentionally gone two months without a bleed and they just surmised that must have screwed something up. Periods went back to normal the next month and I've never had anything like that happen again (it was 3 years ago), so sometimes just a weird cycle. It was reassuring to get it checked though.

Thanks. I have a appointment with my gp on the 7th and I'm booked in for a smear on the 10th. I'm so scared. I'm still bleeding

O thought I would update. Well I went to my gp and told her what's happening. She did swabs and has referred me for a ultrasound. I am still bleeding. Been over 6 weeks now. I had a smear Monday but she did warn me it might come back saying not enough cells cus of the bleeding. I did ring up yesterday to see if swab results come back and they did which come back *normal*. So it's not infection/sti/std. which I knew that would come back clear. Now just waiting for this ultrasound and smear results. It's getting me really down and frustrated. Not had sex in months and I'm constantly tired

It must be very draining and unpleasant I hope you get some answers soon because the worse bit must be the uncertainty
