Does anyone else suffer with sciatic pain

basically as the title says. i suffer badly on and off over the last 12 yrs. i do find certain pain killers (zydol) work but they make me high as a kite so i dont take them since having nicole.

i have been to a consultant who has confirmed 2 bulging discs and disc degenerative disease. nothing can be done only to take it easy, impossible with nicole. the pain is bearable (pain threshold is very high) but its the damn (sorry) pins and needles in my feet, numbness and lack of energy in my legs. i thought maybe walking would help this but its getting more painful to walk very far.

does anyone else suffer with this and has anyone got any "cures"?

PS. i will be going to a new gp soon, hes my sisters gp and has been great with her back problems. shes in constant chronic pain and the list of her problems is endless, shes classed as disabled and has a wheelchair.

Hi, I am 32 and have suffered on and off over the years with lower back pain. In October last year I was diagnosed with osteo athritis in my spine after suffering chronic back pain for a few months, a x-ray showed this. Since the week before Christmas I have had a really sore leg and when I mentioned it to my doctor she said it was sciatica, it has grown worse since and some days I can hardly walk even when I'm dosed up on painkillers. I am awaiting another course of physio and also a referral to the orthopaedic specialist. I am also going away to a new GP as I haven't changed since we moved house in November. I really sympathise as I am in so much pain, I never thought sciatica was as bad as this! Emma. Xxx
