How long does it usually take to feel normal again after a filling?

So today I had my first filling - in one of my wisdom teeth. It had been broken by my tongue stud (which I no longer wear)

I had the injection in my gum and then some drilling, then the filling itself. My mouth feels terrible, if I close my teeth normally it hurts! Having never had this before, I don't really know what to expect, if it's gonna stay sore I'll need to take some painkillers.

Any thoughts?

TIA

xx

Hiya I'm a dental hygienist hope I can help
Hope you are feeling better today. Obviously, you're no longer frozen so my next question is when you bite down, does it hurt? Like your teeth don't fit together? If you can, pm me as I don't often go to the 'your health and wellness page'
