10 month old playing by herself?

how much time does your 10 month old spend playing by him/herself?
or do you play with them all the time?

I play or read to her maybe 50% of the time but she just plays with her toys and cruises around the rest of the time. i am always in the same room, but she does play by herself a lot. my mom thinks its great to raise a child independent and advises me the more she plays alone the better. but i am not sure. what do you girls think?

id say im much the same as urself. junior is happy to play on the floor with his toys and crawl about and just look up at me and smile every now and then lol but we have our time 2 i get down on the floor and play with his toys with him ect its probs about 50 50 for us to. i think it makes play time with mummy more fun for both us xx

My first child got a lot of attention from mummy . When I had the boys they usually played alone a lot, with Mummy having to look after Aaliyah as well. By time the fourth child came along, I tried my best to at least play a bit with him every day and had to due to developmental delays, but it was extremely hard with four kids under 4. I think with my next child I will be able to play a little bit more with her because the children are a little older and play with each other, so I can focus a little more on the baby.

I think playing by themselves about 50% of the time is good and also necessary so you can get things done or send some time for yourself. I sometimes wish I spent more time with my twins though because they were still very young when I had my fourth (they were 19 months) and felt like they needed my attention still.

sounds about the same here too--she plays well on her own first thing in the morning sometimes for a good 30-60 min before breakfast, then after each nap she usually plays on her own for a little bit, and in evenings after dinner....so long as she's not too tired, hungry or crabby she'll play on her own...we are usually in the room with her and she looks at us occasionally or we are in the kitchen cooking etc...and she crawls in to check on us occasionally and we peak in on her often.
there are days when she's more clingy and won't play on her own much but usually she's pretty happy to do so.

yeah my lo plays by himself for up to an hour too. I love it and think its great! We do lots together too x
