I took him to Drs yesterday as coughing and daughter crackling as she breathed (she's a real tough cookie so really fights any illnesses and carries on as normal) Dr wasn't concerned and said baby's chest was clear.

However tonight he sounds very hoarse and squeaky when he cries, is now crackling like DD when he breathes out BUT so far has no temp and is feeding well. Whenever I give him Calpol however he is instantly sick and has just been sick again as I tried to give him a teeny bit. He is gagging when coughing too - presumably on phlegm. My poor baby boy.

I'm sure it's very common for young babies to catch their older siblings bugs but as it's Friday tomorrow should I take him back to drs or is there nothing they can do and I just have to wait for it to run it's course?

Thank you

I would take him back to the doctor. I'm not sure if there's nothing they can do, but it won't hurt to find out.

Take him back. Don't want to scare you but when my eldest was 12 weeks he got this and ended up in hospital with a feeding tube as he couldn't take his milk. He got it again when he was a bit older and again was really poorly but didn't need hospitalising that time. It is a virus though and there isn't much the doctors can do...as long as he's feeding and his chest is clear he should be ok. I would get him double checked tho to make sure it hasn't gone to his chest. Also keep an eye on his breathing as tho other thing it can do is cause low oxygen levels and make it hard for them to breath. You would physically see him struggling though and it would happen gradually not a sudden thing so try not to worry too much. Just keep and eye on him being so little. X

My opinion is if his chest was clear yesterday it probably hasn't changed, especially if he's feeding well and has no fever. But if you feel uneasy you should see the doctor

Take him back. Bronchiolitis can be very serious for young babies as their blood oxygen can get low. He needs to be checked, he's only 11 weeks.

My first had bronchitis at 9 months and it's the sickest he's ever been. My niece wad in hospital at 7 months earlier this year with RSV/brochiolitis.

It also tends to get worse over the course of a few days before getting better. Take him to the doc.

Thank you ladies I will do-i suspect he'll say 'his chest is clear but if worsens take him to a&e' but it's best to get him checked.

I have a tommee tippee breathing sensor pad thank God otherwise I'd be up all night watching him. As for last night he woke at 12 - was sick after a bit of formula - Daddy feeds him this one feed in the night the rest is me (he seems to burp and cough at same time so very loud forceful noise then gags then is sick) then he fell asleep then a feed from me at 5am. So pretty good saying he's so chesty.

Ok so Dr said exactly as I anticipated! Thanks for replies
