12 week scan next week..

What should I expect from my twelve week scan? Its my first time baby and we only had our first appointment last week! I'm confused as to what to expect.

Hi there,

I just got back from my first scan (12w 3d) Its our first baby too. I onloy had my real first MW apt on monday where she went through family history etc.

Scan was lovely. Saw baby jumping about. I had the combined test where they do a NT scan to look at the thinkness of the fluid at the back of the neck and blood test which gives me odds of having a Downs baby. Im not at any particular high risk or none higher than anyone else but I agreed to take it.
So had my scan at 9 this morning and then a blood test after. thats all really, nothing scary...just lovely to meet my baby
