So Im 16 weeks tomorrow and everything seems fine...im starting to show and my boobs have exploded in size... but every time I go to the doctor I weigh LESS than the previous time.... they didnt really say much about it but Im wondering now why Im not gaining...why Im losing instead I no longer have m/s and baby is alive in there....i check with my doppler every morning...but i just cant figure it out....its really concerning me...anybody else in the same boat?:boat:

I lost 7 pounds in the first trimester and now I just haven't gained anything, staying exactly where I am. It is totally fine, no need to worry. If your doctor was concerned they would most definitely tell you. Once the baby starts getting bigger you will put on the weight that you need to :flower:

Don't worry. It's really not that unusual, especially so early into 2nd tri. As long as the baby is growing as expected, there really isn't a cause for concern. Your doctor will most certainly bring it up if it ever becomes a concern for them. I'm almost 27 weeks and I still am yet to gain any weight whatsoever. I go back to the doctors Monday so we will see what they say but so far there has been no mention of it. Somehow, my body is losing enough to balance out all the baby related gains. It's nothing I try to do either. It just happened. I guess I should also note that I was not a toothpick pre-pregnancy but not obese either. Trust your doctors, the way you feel physically and your body. It knows what it is doing.

I always lose at least 8-10 pounds in first trimester (this time it was 12 pounds or so) and it usually takes me most of second tri and into early third tri to regain the weight. My doctor has never been concerned as long as I am eating and drinking enough. If you started out underweight it might be a bigger concern, but I started out overweight so it isn't a problem for me. I think many women have m/s through the early part of second tri (I still have several days a week when I am nauseous) so some women won't gain weight by 16 weeks. If your doctor isn't worried, then it sounds like everything is okay! If you still haven't gained by your next appointment, just ask about it and I'm sure he or she will reassure you. The baby is still so tiny at this point, but it will pick up weight in the next few months and you will, too!
