Thanks Nino3! The doc told me at my last visit that the anti-nausea pills I was taking make people gain weight...and now that I'm not taking them I wonder how he'll explain my weight gain when I go to him in two weeks! :)

I just weighed myself, so to make u feel better I've put on 16lb so far!!!!! I'm only 15 weeks!! Xxx

I'm 20w and my whole first trimester I went from 133 to 135. The beginning of second tri I went from 135 to 140, and in the past month I'm up to 148. My docs said that it was unhealthy to gain 8lbs in only one month and I'm supposed to slow down my weight gain now, but I'm confused as to what they want me to do to "slow it down" ? I eat pretty healthy and don't binge too much on sweets. I feel like stressing about weight gain can cause a lot of crappy tension in pregnancy-I feel like as long as you and your baby are healthy and happy it shouldn't matter too much. Even though there are risks like gestational diabetes and things like that, I wish that there weren't!

I'm up 20lb as of yesterday, 15 weeks today, I'm on bedrest and its for the entire pregnancy so no doubt will gain huge amounts lol, my BMI started at 17 so its not too bad. My first 2 I gained 60+lb and lost it within the year, 3 and 4 I gained 40lb and 30lb but they were 4lber and 3lber so still big gain! Some women just gain more, as long as you get the nutrients and you're not at risk for something like gestational diabetes I wouldnt worry too much:hugs:

What anti nausea meds do you have? I have zofran and phenergan same as before, maybe they do give weightgain.

Big congrats on your LO too:cloud9::hugs:

My doc cut me off from my anti nausea medicine because I gained 7 pounds in one month...you're doing much better than I am! So yeah - what does the doc expect you/me to do if we're eating healthy?! If you find out please let me know. Thank you very much

Thank you SO much! I'm on a generic zofran. My brother who's a doc prescribed it since I was sick before my first doc appointment. He said that he's never heard of it causing weight gain and he would give me a prescription if my doctor wouldn't :) But the MS has been sooo much less in the second tri.

Well looks like I am one of those women who 'just gain more'....I am so blessed after 8 years of TTC to have a baby growing and so far healthy...so yeah -it's the first time in my life I'm not that upset about gaining weight!

Thank you

Everyone gains differently in pregnacy. My last on I weighed 105 to begin with and ended at 150. I lost it all in 2 months easily! My mom was always really tiny and would gain 60-80lbs and snap right back! Some gain alot some gain hardly any. If you're eating right just go with it! I'm 15 weeks and I've gained about 8 but I'm starting to gain fast. I'm not worried, I just make sure I eat healthy and once I have baby I watch what I eat. If you're going to breast feed you'll lose the weight even faster! :), just relax and enjoy being pregnant :) eat healthy and take some walks :)

I gained 80 lbs with my son! I'm trying to not do that this time cause I ended up by being 230 lbs when I had him and I was already 185 when I got pregnant this time. My son was healthy so thats all I care about, I did have a doctor basically call me fat while I was pregnant so I switched doctors lol

I think everyone is different too. In glad it's made u feel better he he he, I've been over indulging a little too much. I think as long as u r happy and healthy and so is bubba I wouldn't worry. I don't know anyone who has only gained the recommended weight. Xxx

Ive gained about 18bs and its really getting me down :( Im hoping my mums scales are broken because it doesnt sem right!! roll on july until little bubba is born and I can start to feel like me again! X

By the time I was 13 weeks I had gained 14lbs. I haven't been weighed again, but my bump is way big now so I'm guessing I'm probably 20lbs or over. Btw it's hard for me to work out, because I only really think in terms of kg. I have put on a little weight, mainly abdomen and bum, but docs/midwives haven't seemed concerned. People get really hung up on how much others gained, but it's likely to be different for everyone. I'm eating normally, only a little more than I did pre-pregnancy, so I'm guessing this is the amount I am meant to gain. I'm sure you're fine!

Iv gained 16lbs at 22 weeks.... I wouldnt worry yourself too much hunni, xx

I'm up 20lb in 20 weeks - I really didn't want to overdo it this time as I got really big before but I'm heading that way. Really think I might go back to slimming world because my eating is out of control! I can't blame anything else, I am just eating way too much!!

Same here. I gain a good chunk in first trimester due to nausea. It tends to slow down a bit in second a third when I can get my normal diet back. I am at 17 lbs for 20 weeks. I am hoping for 0.5 a week now, but I would be stunned if I didn't gain atleast 35 lbs total. That's what I gained with my son and the first 12 lbs were gained by week 12:)

How did you lose all the weight after your daughter if you don't mind me asking.
I have gained a lot during this pregnancy and really stressing if I'll be able to lose it in a year.

I gained a lot...I'm 27 weeks & my weight gain is about about 26-27 pounds...not feeling so great about it at all, but for some reason my doctor doesn't seem worried. He keeps telling me it's okay & that it all evens out. I was freaking out and told him I don't wanna go over the 35 pounds and he goes it's okay if you do.I'm really not eating a lot of sweets, I'm not going crazy on food, but yet still some how i'm gaining weight extremely fast. SO STRESSED AND MISERABLE BECAUSE OF IT, so you are not alone. I was 128-130 pre-pregnancy & 2 weeks ago when I was at doctors I was 154, I'm 5'5 hight.
That's a huge weight gain by the 27th week, and 2 weeks ago I was 25 weeks.
Not sure why my doctor doesn't seem worried at all??
When I complained, he did say I could cut down on carbs if im worried.
but i'm not eating that much as it is, why in the world am i putting on weight like a big cow?

I've gained 10.5kg so far (23 lb) at 25 weeks but I don't 'feel' like I look thaaaat much bigger apart from the bump :)

I am right there with you! TBH last week I was 17 pounds up from my pre-pregnancy weight. I wasn't a skinny minnie but am very athletic with lots of muscle. Drs aren't concerned with my weight gain as some women need to gain more off the bat to build up fat reserves, and like other ladies have said a lot of times the weight gain evens out! If you are eating healthy there's nothing to worry about, it's certainly better to gain weight during pregnancy than not :) I am excited to work it off after the baby comes anyways and get back into shape so I try and not let it bother me!
