19 weeks and half way there? isnt 20 weeks half way?

Hey ladies so im 19 weeks today yey!

I got my weekly updates in my email saying "19weeks today your half way! from baby centeer and some other websites. i thought 20 weeks was half way , or am i missing something lol does it depend on what country your in? or something?

I find those email pregnancy updates vary a lot. I'm subscribed to 3 at the moment and they all say something different. My baby's estimated length ranges from 25cm in 1 email through to 28cm in another

But yes, you're right, 20 weeks is half of a typical 40 week pregnancy.

Strange you say that actually.
I was on a website today about being 18 weeks pregnant and it said congratulations on reaching half way. I always knew 20 weeks to be the half way point too!

Its bizzare i think it depends because if its 9months then half way with be maybe 18 weeks ( not that im good at maths im crap)but because its based on a pregnancy being 10 months i gues thats why its half way??

once you reach 37 weeks (I think it is anyway) you are considered to be full term

thats prob why they say 18/19 is half way

I think it's cos midwives etc refer to u as in the next week! So once u reach 19 weeks u are in the 20th week so pregnancy books etc would give u details for that week! So to a midwife u are say 19+3 but in a book you are in 20th week! Hope that helps x

I'd say 21 was half was as you are not pregnant until the 3rd week. But it makes sense to say its because 37 weeks is full term.
