This is my 2nd baby I'm 36 plus 5 at the moment and had contractions since 5am this morning. Went Into labour ward this morning and mw examined me and said I'm 1cm and 2/5ths palpable but I'm best to go home and wait! She said baby will probably be here in the next few days.

What do you think? Could I still be waiting 3 weeks?

Are your contractions regular and getting stronger? If so it'll be very close! But if your contractions started already it can't be too far off anymore. Good luck! X

Could go either way. I am 1cm also and 4/5 engaged and 50% effaced. Have been having contractions on and off for the last 3 weeks or so :( good luck xx

Contractions are every 4/5 mins but the pain is manageable!
Had none of this with my first! My waters broke and I delivered within an hour and a half!!! This is new territory to me! X

No progression! Contractions lasted all day but then I managed to sleep last night! Woke up to get a cup of tea and they have started again! I'm confused as to what my body is doing? X

I had something similar to this when I was 35+6 (pregnant with no3) I had regular contractions for 12 hours that got stronger but still manageable (although I didn't have pain relief with my others apart from gas and air) they examined me and I was 2-3cm dilated with a 'soft' cervix but then it all stopped and im still here at 37+2!! boo!:dohh: I don't want to dishearten you but it really could go either way so I would keep an open mind! This is also new territory for me as my 1st labour was 7 hours and my second was only 3 hours so who knows what is going on!!

Thanks Hun - yes think I need to be prepared for this to last a few mire weeks. It's so strange how every pregnancy and labour is different.
I'm clinging onto the mw words that she thought it would be 3/4 days but I know baby will come when baby is ready!
And the wait will be worth it! X

Same here. I went for a long walk yesterday and after that I had strong quite regular contractions all night until I went to bed. Nothing overnight, then it started again this morning plus I had unbearable pains in my lower back. Then it all stopped!!! Talked to my mum and she said it was the same when I was born, she had me the following night. Not holding my breath though, I know anything can happen. But crossing my fingers for both of us :) xx

I'm ok much the same! Nothing at all over night or this morning! I have been cleaning cupboards this morning so think I'm nesting but no other signs whatsoever!
Starting to think I could easily go another couple of weeks :(

I was walking for ages today with my son on his pony but nope nothing!! lets hope we all get some labour dust our way!!
