1st birthday party??

We had a very successful Birthday Tea. We had quiche, salad, new potatoes etc and birthday cake. Nana, grandad, auntie, cousin, mum and dad (and lo of course) They arrived at 4 and left by 6 so she could have her bath. It was short and sweet but that was nice, it was not over stimulating for her and we had a nice meal and lovely photos.

We are only having a small birthday party. Just me, DH, my parents and my DH's parents. We plan on having it around 1pm to be done by about 3pm (so I guess a lunch!). In between her naps, really.

I know that I won't have the time or energy to organise something big or elaborate (will have just started back at Uni), so I'd rather just have something small that I'll have happy memories of :)

small and good memories is the way to go i think! 2 hours seemed like enough for Isobel!!

we didnt do much really as her birthday is right after NY and people were partied out  i made her a cake and put a finger buffet on and told people to come mid afternoon and stay for however long they wanted. Was really nice and casual and about 20 people were there. Amelie had a great day :)

Chloe and Jaycee are at the end of January so there was a little gap between Christmas, NY and their birthday!
We had a party in a hall and I invited my family and OH's family. There was lots of kiddies so it was nice. We had games and toys with sweets, sandwiches, cakes, crisps, fruit and vegetables. A mixture of things really. I wanted everyone to enjoy the day. I had the party from 3pm til 6pm but if they wanted they could stay on but we ended up going home to my house as the hall we had it in was freezing cold. The girls were knackered so we got them into the jamas and put them in bed then we all ordered a chinese and had wine to celebrate adult style!

we had just family at my sister in law's house as they have a big garden. it was a Sunday afternoon, 1pm-3pm, there were 12 adults and 4 children (Adam's grandparents, 3 aunties, great grandparents and cousins, and us). we had kids' party food - sandwiches, quiche, cupcakes, that sort of thing. it was fun, and fitted in nicely between Adam's naps, so he was on good form the whole time. :)

Kane is 1 on the 26th, I'm doing a jungle theme party for him :)

I have invited his cousins, family, friends from baby class as we are all good friends now and my friends with LO's. Also inviting my friends without babies as they love Kane to bits so will probably do a BBQ to if its nice as my friend is bringing her gazebo, so regardless of the weather the kids can go out the back garden and play :)

I was thinking about starting at 1 and then everyone can decide when they want to leave...

Food wise I'm just doing finger foods, then sandwichs etc for the toodlers and a BBQ if its nice, fingers crossed!

We had a little party...10 ppl came (9 adults, 1 child lol) We had lots of cake and just let Joe unwrap his presents, sang happy birthday and then he played with my godchild. After 2 hours everybody left.

Amber on NYE alot of family came around had food/cakes good 4/5hrs.

On kyes birthday I took him to a soft play and we went for lunch. Then grandparents and daddy came over and we had a dinner , opened presents, cake etc

We also had a big bbq/pool party few weeks later for him as was waiting for weather to cheer up, was a good day, was more like a lil fam reunion he had fun and lots of prezzies

We had a party (I wanted family only, but OH insisted) in our Church hall. There were 12 babies/children and their parents, and then family. We had free play, then food for the kids, then pass the parcel. It was 2 hours. It went quite well actually, and wasnt too much planning really.

we had a little get together with some finger foods and a cake of course! We invited our parents, sisters, my aunty and grandma and OH's best friend and his partner. I think we started it at about 10.30am and finished by lunchtime.

i did a small finger buffet, sandwhichs, wotsits, quiche, sausages etc and jelly and ice cream!! i just let the children play, it started at 2 finshed 4 that way i didnt need to do a big buffet because it was between meal times.

Aprty bags tho were a hassel! and expensive, in the end i just put sweets in(very unhealthy i know :S ) and got a big box of crayons from the £shop and put 5 crayons in each bag and some balloons xxx

Olivia had her first birthday the 4th and she did great..it was from 2-5 and there was 35 guests. She did GREAT! she played with the other kids with her gifts and ate her cake. I was so proud of her! Everybody told me all those people would overwhelm her but she knew all the people in her house and was comfortable with them all. She passed out as soon as they all left :)

We had a huge party.. Tons of decorations and balloons! Lots of people came and bought Tyler lots of gifts, which was lovely. We did 12pm-6pm at our house.. So that people could come and go.
We had an Elmo Pinata and pin the tail on the donkey! We did a BBQ and cooked burgers and hotdogs to order. We made a potato salad and had chips and dips. I made 80 mini mint chocolate cupcakes which were a HUGE hit! And my OH made pulled pork sliders.
Everyone who came said it was the most fun they'd had all year... Which was awesome considering most people were around my age (22)!!
