1st Midwife appointment......

its my first midwife appointment on Monday at 10:45am and i was thinking should i ring them up to have a word with them to see if there going to scan me... i feel like a fool if i ring up and they say they cant or something but i was thinking because i had a MC end aug and bleed in this pregnancy weather they would do it if i rang and asked before the day? or shall i wait and ask on the day of the appointment?

Where is your appointment taking place? Usually the appointments are at clinics not the hospital so you wouldnt expect to be scanned at your first appointment. Usually at your booking in appointment all your details and history are taken and sometimes bloods. If there is cause for concern the midwife could then refer you for a scan but its not usual to have it on your booking in appointment.

Oxford john radcliffe and im on high risk pregnancy... so will be looked after at the hospital all the time in the womens centre

You are usually not scanned at your booking in appointment. Even if you've had bleeding, they would make a separate scan appointment for you.

i rang up the early pregnancy clinic to talk to a midwife and the midwife which sadly i wont be seeing monday was very helpful, kind and understanding.. i asked her what will be happening and she explaned about the bloods, hight and weight checked and then she said later i will see the doctor which then decieds if i get to be seen by the silver star team though out the pregnancy or if i get checked by my own doctor/midwife in my town... anyway i asked for a scan and explaned that i had a MC end of aug and the bleed in this pregnancy and she said that yes i should be able to get a scan on monday... just fingers crossed i get to see my lil blueberry growing alright..
