its the first time max is sleeping (at night) in his own room, and im a little sad! lol its the best thing for all of us, coz OH is on shifts and max wakes him up all the time which makes OH grumpy, and its killing me running to the bedroom everytime he makes a sound to keep him from waking OH..plus LO is a very light sleeper so any noises like us walking on squeeky floorboards wakes him up, but im a little nervous that i wont wake up if he cries.. we have the monitor but im not sure itll be the same as him crying in the same room.. did anyone else worry about this too? or are you all really light sleepers and jump out of bed with a spring in your step everytime you wake up? lol oh im gonna miss seeing the little man's face in the cot next to the bed as soon as i wake up :(

sorry just a moan really

It's hard isn't it? My LO and I used to co-sleep in her room (on the sofa bed, not in her cot, lol) 'cause my OH works 14 hour days and I didn't want to disturb him. OH soon was moaning that he missed snuggling up to me (!) so I had to get LO sleeping in her cot. Initially I didn't want to leave her alone in her room and really missed cuddling up with her at night, but it soon got easier.

I'm a really heavy sleeper but I still always hear my baby crying even though we've no monitor (although we're in a flat and she's only in the next room). I read somewhere that mothers are just more sensitive to their babies and will wake at the first sign of a whimper. I'm not sure if that's true, but I'm sure with the monitor you'll be fine. Maybe you could sleep in your LO's room the first few nights until you both get used to it?

:hugs:

thank you, im not sure how quickley i wake up i just realise that im awake and tending to LO lol (sounds weird i know) but when OH has been up and im in bed he usually has the monitor on in the lounge so i can go to max so i can carry on sleeping, and he says that by time max has cried and he's got to the bedroom im already awake and settling him (although i dont even remember most of the time!) so i must wake up pretty much as soon as he starts crying,.. but its hard to know for sure! lol i thought about sleeping in his room but we dont have anything i could sleep on and weve got all wood floors :( and yes i know its selfish but i really dont wanna sleep on a hardwood floor all night, ill just turn the monitor up to maximum and put it right next to my head on the bedsde table lol thats sure to wake me up! glad im not the only one who misses spending the night with their LO

Interesting thread. Well, thanks for taking up this topic and good points to bring up.

i dont know what i was worrying about! lol LO has slept better than ever the last few nights, and its so nice not having to tiptoe to my bed at night!
