My little girl who I only 2 weeks old has a cold. She is really snuffly and cant breathe easily. It is really stressing me out as I know there is not much we can give her to make her feel better. I feel so helpless knowing she is so miserable and I can't help her :(

awww poor baby! There isn't much medication wise that you can give her but you could try making the bathroom steamy and taking her in there to clear her nose... Also maybe try some vapour rub on her feet with socks on top (not sure what age you can use that from) or on a muslin cloth near the head of her Moses/crib.

And lots of cuddles from mummy :hugs:

DS has a cold when he was younger, I found saline spray and a snot sucker a life saver

Also sitting him in his bouncer chair while I showered help, and elevating his crib at night

Other than that plenty of cuddles :)

Aww Hun I'm sorry. I second the saline spray (sterimar is fantastic) and a nasal aspirator (I use dr bees electric one). Snuffle babe vapour rub on the chest, back and feet (I think you can use it at that age). Some baby safe mental oil on a muslin cloth in the cot and a calpol plug in too xx

Leo was 5 days old when he got his first cold. Just keep the bulb syringe (snot sucker) handy!

I put some snufflebabe in boiling water in a jug. Then I put that under the cot/crib. It means the vapour is in the air without putting anything on the skin (mostly because I hate the sticky texture  ) And I can't kick/knock it over if it's under the cot!

I second elevating the head of the crib too. Some thick books under the feet do the trick nicely.

Hope she's better soon!
