Hi ladies! I'm 25 years old and trying on clomid for the first time! I haven't had a period for 10 months and my Fert Specialist prescribed clomid and 2 days ago they found a 16mm follicle in my left ovary! So just BD'ing every night to ensure there's a swimmer to meet the egg when it comes out :)

Anyone else who is a first timer on clomid this year?! I would love to have cycle buddies! So far we have:

Felecia - 25 yo, 150mg clomid, 1st cycle
Wantabubba - 25 yo, 100mg clomid, 1st cycle
Hope1409 - ? yo, 50mg clomid, 1st cycle

You've already responded on one of my posts; but I'm kind of a first timer! I only did one cycle almost 2 years ago, but that didn't do anything. Now I'm doing 150 mg with 2,000 mg of metformin so FX for both of us that we get our BFP very soon!!

Hi Felecia yes good luck to us! How did you get to 150mg, did they start you on 50mg first then 100mg? We can be cycle buddies :happydance::hugs:

Well I did 50 mg 2 years ago, and at this point it's probably been over 2 years of TTC, so he just gave me the highest dose he gives to women. I guess he just has seen how much I've been through and gave it to me to ovulate. Sure we can be cycle buddies :) If you ever need anything, support or whatever, just send me a message :)

Yay, well good luck to you too! Do you know when to test after OV'd? Also, are you doing monitored cycles, like your dr. is checking your bloods and u/sound once they see a spike in your EST levels?

I think I'm oving today as I've been having pains in my left side last 2 days and tonight got fertile mucus (sorry if TMI). This is CD15 for me. I haven't taken any tests or charting because I've had false positives on ovulation tests and I just don't like the feeling of my hopes being up then shot down. I go March 5th (CD21) to get my blood drawn to see how my progesterone is and will find out March 12th (CD28) if I did indeed ovulate, but I'm not having an u/s done or anything. Are you supposed to be going through that? What Cycle day are you on currently?

How do you know how fertile mucus looks like? I started clomid on Feb 13, so does that make it cd 17 for me as today is 29feb here? I don't know if you're supposed to but it just feels good knowing that everything is being tracked by the professionals. Here's my experience and process so far with clomid:

CYCLE TRIAL#1 - January - 50 mg
Blood test on CD#8, CD#11, CD#14 - showed low EST levels so no need for U/S

CYCLE TRIAL#2 - February 13- 100 mg
Blood test - Feb 20-low, 23-low, 26 - over 630 EST so good chance for OV.
Ultrasound Feb 27 - found 16 mm follicle in my ovary likely to OV between 28-Mar 2..

so yeah, I just feel like it's so monitored and we're not missing out on when to do the deed...

I never had a period for 10 months so I dont know my actual CD like normal people..

Hi ladies, can I join in? Here is a brief summary with me:

i have been off the pill for 2 years and ever since have been having irregular cycles (31-42 days). last aug i found out i was pregnant but sadly ended in a m/c. since then we have been trying again for our first bundle and no luck yet. i use digital opk and get my smiley face each time so i know i surge and thought i ovulated.

long story short, i went to my obgyn and he ran day21 tests and my progesterone came back at 5.1. so just today he told me to start 50mg of clomid. he says i do ovulate, but its not as "strong" each month, so taking clomid will take the frustration out of it. im a little scared but anxious at the same time. i had an u/s 2 weeks ago and the tech saw a lot of healthy follicles so i am praying one cycle on clomid will do the trick for us.

what are the most common side effects you ladies have experienced? what dosage are you girls taking?

Hi Hope! I have not had a period for 10 months, and doctors did scans, bloods etc and decided to put me on 50mg clomid in January. They did bloods again and came back as not good enough, so placed me on 100 mg this month.

They did the ultrasound 3 days ago and there's a 16mm follicle so hopefully that ruptures and goes to my tubes to meet the sperm and voila, bebe! :)

I haven't had any side effects at all :winkwink:

Hopefully that follicle will be the one :) last month I had a dull ache for weeks on my right side so I went in and they did u/s and the tech said nothing was there everything was fine. It could have been a cyst but wasn't there any more. She also showed me that I had like 5 follicles which in her words she said "you are very fertile look at all these follicles".... So I am praying this clomid will work to push one out lol.

Actually, if you don't get too grossed out, you can go to mybeautifulcervix.com (I think it is) and it shows a womans insides and cervical mucus for her whole cycle. I don't know if next cycle he might monitor more closely or not, as I am finding out a ton of different things thanks to this forum :) I actually had a period for 9 months straight, then they made me go on b/c pills so I finally was regular for 3 months (at this time they put me on 1,000 mg of metformin). Then Dec. 25th I went off b/c pills and didn't have a period until Feb 14th which was brought on by Provera. So I went from having a period for 9 months to not having one a month and a half lol. So I only know what my Cycle day is now because of the provera and clomid. This period only lasted 5 days and it wasn't even as bad as I used to have it. For the 9 months I was on a period, I finally went to a gynecologist who almost admitted me in the hospital due to my anemia level so I've been having a rough time and my blood work has finaly built up, but it took a long time and I still am tired lol. I think a BFP will be in the works for us ladies :)

Welcome Hope! First of all, so sorry for your loss. Last time I used 50 mg of clomid was 2 years ago and my progesterone was .05 so needless to say I am not ovulating. I stopped doing opk tests because that month said I ovulated when indeed I did not so it made me depressed lol. I do not ovulate at all, I had a 9 month period straight, and I've always had really long periods, in a year usually I only have altogther 4 months or so without bleeding. However, 9 months straight is the longest I ever had. I finally went to the gynecologist in another place we had lived and she put me on b/c pills and metformin (1,000 mg), then my hubby and I moved back home to be closer to family and I started to go to the gynecologist I had seen before when we lived here. He immediately gave me 150 mg of clomid and upped my metformin to 2,000 mg and told me if I did not ovulate then I probably will need injections and go from there. So, I'm keeping my FX so I at least ovulate this month (of course a BFP would be even better!) I took clomid CD 3-7, like I said 150 mg. I took them in the morning; the first 3 days I didn't notice anything different. On day 4 of taking clomid the side effects hit me like a ton of bricks. I was so nauseous I couldn't walk, I just laid down on the couch with a migraine and was so dizzy and EXTREMELY emotional. I started bawling b/c a woman who was 58 had a child and I haven't been able to get pregnant yet LOL! Then my hubby came home and talked too much for my liking, then I wanted Subway and he wouldn't get it for me so I went off! I never have that bad of hormonal issues! On day 5 (my last clomid pill) I did feel a lot better, but was still a little emotional. The day after my last pill I started to feel like a normal person again lol. At least my hubby and I didn't fight, usually when I get to feeling horrible I just go to bed. I also had a few hot flashes, but really that 4th day on clomid was my worst then I was better. GL to you Hope! What Cycle day are you on now?

UGH! I'm so jealous of you ladies that you at least have a little confirmation that you have the process of possibly ovulating lol. I have had constant twinges of pain on my left side, then a big glob of fertile mucus (sorry if TMI) last night. I also have a tilted uterus, so I hope that doesn't jinx me; although my mom said she had one too and she NEVER had trouble conceiving. GL to you two, having mature follicles of that size is a great thing!!

hi felecia. boy do we each have our own little novels to write about, lol! man if we could combine all of our experiences and the roads we traveled on this ttc journey, we might sell tons and be millionaires, haha! currently I am waiting for af to arrive. she "should" be here tomorrow or sometimes very soon this week. she has been cramping me so i am thinking she is just around the corner. so as soon as af arrives, i start the 50mg of clomid from day 3-7. i really pray this pill is what needs to give my follies a little push so it can fertilize and create a sticky bean :) i hope my side effects arent too crazy. i have a bad habit of minding fudging myself thinking things are happening when they arent!!! lol.

Lol... oh to be millionaires then we could just get IVF whenever we wanted and it wouldn't take long at all to be pregnant! LOL! I've heard tons of success with women that took the 50 mg and helped them ovulate. In fact I know a girl that didn't use any preventive methods for at least 5 years, finally took clomid 50 mg, and she got pregnant the first time; she did ovulate but apparently just not strong enough. I did good my first 3 days on the pill, even told myself I'd never let it get out of hand because I had convinced myself a lot of the women were just over exaggerating. Boy was I wrong! Lol... I don't think it will be too bad if you are just left alone... but I was sooo sick the 4th day on clomid, that when my hubby came home I was just mad about anything and everything LOL! On the 5th day I was better, and on the day after I took my last pill I started to go back to normal. I'm the kind of girl that while on period I don't have any hormonal issues unless I'm just in a lot of pain that day; I think it's due to having a period so often I got immune to it. However, there are many girls that don't have any symptoms. When I took 50 mg 2 years ago I didn't have any symptoms... however when I took 150 mg this time I had horrible symptoms but only that one day really. I just talked with my hubby before hand to let him know what could possibly happen and apologized in advance because I didn't know how my body would react. I am pretty sure I ovulated with this though because of all the pain I'm having... so I guess I can complain too much lol. Don't worry when you see that BFP you will forget everything you had to go through I'm sure (at least I dream that I will LOL!) Good luck and FX this round will work for all of us :)

I am really hoping one round will do the trick. It's not that I don't ovulate, It's just its not as strong of an ovulation so we shall see soon. If af arrives tomorrow like she's suppose too, I start clomid on Saturday. Is there a preferred time of day to take it or does it not matter?
I turn 29 next week and even though my sister tells me "im still young", i feel like my clock is ticking! we just need to remember to stay positive and this forum is helping a lot. I pray I get a strong ovulation with a very sticky bean which will in turn be my belated bday gift :)
Where are you in your cycle?

Hi Hope, I take my clomid before I go to bed so I don't get the side effects in the morning, besides hubby is so supportive he brings me a glass of water and my clomid every night when I'm due so that makes it even better :)
