Hi ladies,
I can't seem to find much info online so hoping one of you may know.

I have booked myself in for a 21 day progesterone test on the 22nd of Jan.

I have pcos so want a blood test to check ovulation as I do not trust ovulation sticks as I always get positive no matter what time of the month

When I got pregnant on my dd1 my progesterone was 45 but I'm winding what number is considered positive for ovulation?

I've had two tests in the last few months & my numbers where 27 and 29 which my doctor was happy with.

In the lab that works with my hospital it's 5.82-75.9 nmol/l in the lutheal phase

So if it is as low as 5 does that mean I didn't ovulate? Sorry just abit confused and it would be annoying till wait till the 22nd to find out I never ovulated

Theoretically yes, but why are you worried? And also: there is quite an overlap between preovulatory and lutheal normal values, so I am not sure you can say only based on progesterone that you did or did not ovulate. But I know little about it and I don't want to confuse more. Hope I didn't do that already... Good luck Shorty!

No you didn't I had these tests done years ago just can't remember the numbers of the months I didn't ovulate just remember what they where when I was pregnant.. I have an appointment on the 12th of Feb with a fertility doctor so if af shows this month at least I know I'm being proactive next cycle x

Thanks a mill @Nima

Fingers crossed for you! :dust:

Not sure on numbers but just wanted to say good luck Shorty! Sounds like you’re on the right track to get ahead of things!

Hope you don’t mind me popping in here.. I had my progesterone tested two cycles, first one came back very low at something like 4.7ng/ml (15nmol/l) and the second cycle wasn’t much higher at 6.1ng/ml (19.4nmol/l) but I still managed to fall preg the second cycle. I actually called myself out as soon as I got my results, I was sure it was too low. Hopefully you get a nice good number @Shorty88 :dust:

Actually every lab is different so check the ranges they give you, and there are 2 different units. For me, anything over 3 ng/ml was enough to say I O’d and my level at 7 DPO was just 3.7! I fell pregnant naturally before that but there was no hb on my 8 week ultrasound. Specialists want to see 10 ng/ml unmedicated or 15 ng/ml medicated (Clomid, etc). When pg, anything over 20 ng/ml is good.
