Hi all I am at my wits end at the moment my 23 month old son was sick 2 weeks ago with a temp etc so I brought him into our bed but ever since it has taken him out of his routine he goes down to bed fine after his book etc but wakes during the night screaming and pointing to my room wanting to come in my bed I have been persistent but he was scrawling me got sick from crying one night and also got a nose bleed from
Banging his head off the cot another night he is also climbing out of the cot now I have put a gate on his bedroom door but do you think I should get a bed immediately?. Any tips regards how to deal with him during the night when he wakes he is worse with me than my OH I literally cannot leave the room after I go in to him or he freaks. He stayed in his baby's last night also and slept all night apart from once when he woke for his soother so obviously the issue lies with me I'm so tired and stressed and my patience are just wearing thin with him hellllllp!!!..

👋 hello. My eldest went through a really bad stage at exactly that age. The only way we got through it in the.end.was to.cosleep. It went on for a.good five months. We made the decision to.do.that as we also had a nine.month old and.we.we're getting up with him too.and.we're just knackered. Then suddenly one.night it just stopped and he was fine. I think he was scared and having nigjt.terrors as when.we'd go to him he'd be absolutely screaming and not really responding to us just screaming and staring.behind us. I think.he then.got scared to evwn go to bed. No advice really just hang in there. If u think.it's habit as he's been ill then.you maybe.will.want a different approach to cosleeping but it never made a.rod for us and we all got more.sleep. The only thing we did do.was make.him go.to.bed in.his bed at.the.beginning of the.nigjt.even if it.took hours. No advice on the.bed situation he's.three now.and hasn't.ever tried to climb out of his cot lol

I just went through this with my 23 month old for two weeks and he is now all back to normal. He was sick with a cold and I was having to sit next to his cot at night. Once he started feeling better he still cried for me at night so I ended up having to sleep on a mattress next to his cot. It was exhausting so I totally know how you feel. I took him to the doctor to see if there was anything bothering him and we found out he had an ear infection, so after being put on medication for that and I then just gradually moved further and further away from his cot each day he finally starting sleeping through again.
