28 week midwife appointment?

hi ladies i have my 28 week midwife next week but im just wondering what happens at this appointment as you can tell this my first baby and i dont no nothing

I will be checking back here, I have mine next tuesday! I know for usa it is the last 4 week appt and then appts are every two weeks.

I had mine yesterday.
Its really for a general check up.

I had fundal height measured - blood tests taken - urine tested - and heard baby's heartbeat!!
I dont need to be seen again until 34 weeks and then we are starting my birth plan.

They'll prob take your bloods again at this one, otherwise its the usual - fundal height, BP, urine test, listen to hb etc.

you have 3 lots of blood done this week, and if your Rhesus negative blood type you will have a shot of anti - D
And then the usual stuff, heartbeat, feel of baby etc xx

i just had mine today (couldnt make it at 28 wks) and had to have my Anti-D in my bum and bloods, was getting stabbed from all angles lol

WSS ^ its just the norm plus bloods and maybe the shot if you need it

whats the shot? i hate neeedles i nearly fainted of my first bloods at 12 weeks
aww i was going for liverpool womens but i stayed with arrowpark xx

the shot is only if you're rhesus negative so you'd know that by now I'm sure.

Will be similar to the bloods you had taken when booking in I'm afraid.

I had my 28 week bloods done at the hospital at the same time as the glucose test. If you don't need that then she will take blood from you, measure the fundal height, have a listen to baby, test urine. Mine also told me about pre eclampsia, just for information purposes. xxx

OHHHH i have my Anti D tomorrow afternoon at the hospital!! Do they have to stick it in your bum! owie lol

I had my appointment yesterday. She done bloods, blood pressure, urine check, heard baby's heartbeat, measured my bump and had a feel of it to see what position baby was in. She also spoke about antenatal classes and said I should get dates through for them soon. This is my first baby too and I have to see a gp at 31 weeks then midwife again at 34.
