hey all

so as some of you know i had my 2nd miscarriage in october.

i am seeing a specialist on monday and he said hes going to run every test under the sun to see if there is something wrong.

im just wondering if anyone knows what that will include..

like what are the tests the perform for multiple losses??

thanks everyone xo

Hey hun, didn't want to read an run. I am not too sure, I have had 3 losses (1 ectopic, 2 m/c) but my ob didn't offer any testing. In fact my regular doctor ordered a ton of bloodwork, thyroid, autoimmune testing, etc. But I don't know if that is because of my losses combined with my family history, or what. I had to go for more bloodwork and am now waiting on an appointment with a rheumatlogist because they think I may have lupus.

Sorry I can't be of more help, that's just what my experience has been. Good luck!

Hi hun,

I have been seeing a specialist for recurrent mc, I have had 3 losses to date.

The first part of the testing i had done was an internal with the nurse. Further to this I then went for lots of blood tests (10 tubes in total) for lots of different things which they test for. They also done a blood test on my partner.

These were all the tests they carried out; they all come back clear which means its still unclear why I miscarried... Chances are bad luck :(

Depending on your results you will then be given a series of options on how you would like to proceed when you next fall pregnant e.g options of meds available, or no meds at all.

Good luck with the specialist; if you have any other questions just message me :) xx

thank you so much hunni!

i just wanna know if there is a problem u know UGHH

did they send your dh for testing also??

Hey again,

The majority of women who have these tests end up finding no problems, just mere bad luck :( which can be seen either as a good thing, in that there is nothing wrong, or a bad thing in that you still don't no the reasons behind the mc.

I took my oh along to the appointment and he suggest he also had. Loos to check that our chromosomes were compatible. All the other tests which they carried out are treatable, of the test with me and oh come back incompatible we would of only had about a 15% chance of conceiving naturally and they would of sent us for IVF. however this is very very rare, he said he sees about 2 cases of this a year.

For everything they have a solution. So try not to worry; the most common problems are normally low progesterone and sticky blood which are so easily treatable.

Also after the bloods it can take up to 6 weeks to get results, so it is a timely process :(

Good thing however is the next time you fall pg you will get lots more support, blood and scans and be monitored much more closely.

Honestly try not to worry, chances are they will find no issues and if they do, they will simply provide you with meds to start :)

Xx

Excuse some of the spelling ... This bloody predictor on my phone drives me crazy lol!!!! Xx
