Hey girls
The midwife asked me if I wanted to take classes, and then dismissed it because I have already had an LO.

Thing is, last pregnancy, I had no classes. I just literally got contractions at 27+3, had my waters cut and baby was born next day, normal delivery.
I dunno what drugs i was given to tell you the truth, not all of them.

Would it be odd if I took the classes to do with birthing and stuff, am I missing anything or should i just not bother? Will they be a bit patronising seeing as I've done it already?

I did like the whole go with flow approach, but when people talk about babies being engaged and stuff I still couldnt tell you what the hell that means

I told the midwife to put me down as a maybe.

I would definitely do it! It doesn't matter if you've already had a LO. Medicine changes every single day, there may be new information available that wasn't when you were preggo with Alex. It won't hurt and can only help!

You should def do it! What harm can it do? Good to know everything beforehand xxx

I didn't have any last time because I wasn't asked and when I did it was fully booked - I've since switched docs and already put my name down.

I know birthing options through here - but literally walked into hosp and had an epidural, would be good to know other options and relaxing techniques, I feel like I missed out last time!

Aw kimbowee Im so glad someone knows where im coming from, i felt daft!!!

I have 2 LO and have never been to an antenatal class, figured women have been doing it for thousands of yrs what use can it be, but this time husband and I are going to do it. We are planning on a home birth ( I managed the last 2 with just gas and air so figure im a good candidate). I hope to make some friends in the same boat whilst im there.

I've heard that quite a few second time moms take the classes and they seem to get more out of it the second time because they know what to listen for. With my first pregnancy, all I focused on was how the epidural works and everything else just went in one ear and out the other. This time, I'd really like to focus relaxation techniques and the after birth (which wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.)

Take the classes. In addition to learning new things, you will have the opportunity to meet other moms who are having their babies near the same time you are and sometimes that works out for a nice mommy/baby playgroup!
