Ruby has gone this long too. I try and get her to drink more water but she really doesn't like to drink a lot. I've switched her to all wholemeal breads, rice etc too and tried to limit the bananas she has as they can be a culprit!
Ruby won't eat prunes or drink juice of any form so I made some biscuits using prune puree and she ate loads
i was advised to give my daughter orange juice when she had this problem and was a few weeks old now she is bigger is give her segments off orange/satsuma she loves eating them and it usually relieves the nappy issues.
hope your childs problems resolves itself quickly.
Sam suffers and I was told liquid is the key as no matter how much fruit and veg they eat if the body isnt hydrated then it wont work. I switched to juice rather than water which helps but other than that didnt change anything. its horrible to see them uncomfortable isnt it - big hugs
100g plain flour
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
100g ground almonds
3 tablespoons of prune puree (I just blended tinned prunes with a drizzle of honey - the original recipe calls for sugar free jam but it was fine with prune puree!)
100g butter
1 beaten egg
50g raisins
Cream the prune puree with the butter, then add the beaten egg
Add the raisins
Add the flour, baking powder and almonds
Spoon out blobs onto a greased baking tray (it'll be too sticky to roll out) and bake for about 15-18 mins.
- I'm not sure if these helped R's constipation or not but it made me feel better to know she had eaten something which might help!
