.

I'm using bonjela teething gel, & I massage his gums with my finger or with baby tooth brush-there is a good set at mothercare. I also got him amber teething neckless. It's short so there is no risk of strangle. But I take it off when he's sleeping. He cant manage to use a teether yet.

I think it does (although his Dr, gave me a weird look when he saw him wearing it :) ). When he wears it, He's more happy, I dont really knw if it works but there is no harm in using it I guess. I paid US $40 for it & I got it online. I dont live in the UK so I dont really knw where u can find it xx

You can get them for about £13 - google amber teething necklace.

I got ours (mum & baby set) from hazelaid.com - they're in canada but sent pretty quickly. I put the bracelet on H's ankle under her suit.

The teething powders have been recommended to me by just about everyone, and you can give them upto every 2 hours. I had to use the gel to get H to feed without crying :( She's also had some calpol... To be completely honest I have no clue which one of those things is helping because she was so upset I just did it all. I also let her sleep on me and she was much more settled then. I've really just wanted to make sure she eats and sleeps as well as possible so she can cope with it better.

Someone recommended Anbesol gel to me for teething. The pharmacy I went to only had the liquid but I decided to try it and it seems to work better than baby bonjela. You just have to try out the baby bonjela on your own gums to see how ineffective it is! I could really notice the difference with the Anbesol...though it tastes pretty foul.

Oh, I also meant to say that I have just caved in and bought the mega-expensive Sophie the Giraffe teething toy and it is sooooo much better than all the other teething toys he has. It's softer, which he likes and makes it easier for him to knaw on. Also, it's easy to handle and doesn't really matter where he picks it up, there's somewhere good to teeth on - hooves, ears, nose!

I was just coming back to say about the teethers ;)

We got H a hungry caterpillar with a chewy bum mostly because it was an easier-to-hold toy for her... but this week she's loved gnawing on him as opposed to rubbing her tongue on the bumps ;)
Also got the ring one but it's not really chewy :/

I wondered about the giraffe and what was so good about it.

I'm waiting on the Raz Berry to arrive just now.

We have the Razberry too- good concept since they can chew on the bumpy handle too. Emma's favourite is still Sophie the Giraffe though. Another vote for the amber teething necklaces here too- it definitely improved her overall mood.
