To me that seems a big difference.......well having a scan tomorrow see whats going on... This is my 3rd pregnancy and never had this before so slightly worried now what there going to tell me.. Has anyone else been told they have a bigger measurement than the weeks they are? If so did you have an early birth, or went over due??

Thanks
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

no experience of this sorry but have ur measurements been ok up to now?
or any chance ur a month ahead of what u thought u were???
xx

That is a pretty big difference hun... 1-2cms out is normal! Have they not referred u for a growth scan? I had to have one and my fundal height was only 4cms more than it should have been! It is just a tape measurement of the uterus though so it isn't greatly accurate so don't worry too much :flower: my growth scan came bk fine, and 10wks on my fundal height is only 1cm ahead so I'm thinking baby had a growth spurt early on x

dont panic my friend measured 38 cm at 31 weeks too her baby weighed 6lb born and was fine x

Yep scan tomorrow, she wanted me to have one today but they couldn't fit me in.. Its my first measurement as missed last appointment. I've only had 5 appointments all together as well, so not really been checked over. I had loads of water with my first boy and they told me he's going to be at least 10 pound but he wasn't he was 7.13 and so was my second boy.. I asked her whether it was because I have some extra baggage around the belly that's making it come up and she said no, but water, a bigger placenta and bigger baby will make it that much bigger...I also mentioned I have a hernia, surely that would of made a difference? Where she was panicking she's made me slightly worry....
Thank you for your reply's girls, good to have reassurance.. 38 seems so different from 31 so wanted to know your views.. hopefully I should know tomorrow why..will post the results in case other mums to be experienced the same thing..

hope the scan goes well! i'm sure it is nothing to worry about but i know it's impossible not to worry until you know for sure xx

The dates r defo right and I had a miscarriage n bled for 6 weeks and then straight after had a positive test..

I'll keep a look out for ur update :flower: but like u say, they were wrong 1st time round with ur son!! The growth scan it self is a hell of a lot more accurate then fundal height measurements, but really no one can correctly say the weight of baby until they are here! Good luck with the scan hun :flower: x

Probably is, that's what it was with my friend!! She said when her waters went there was LOADS!! The midwives were even shocked haha! x

I've just been told the same thing today at my midwife appointment. 31weeks measuring 36cm. i have a scan booked in for 3weeks time anyway as I'm overweight and I had a normal GTT test 3weeks ago. My midwife just warned me they may want to do another GTT test after they see what is going on with the scan. Bubs seems to be fine and happy otherwise, but I do worry about him :(

sure everythin will be ok... post the results from the scan tomorro xx

Ive no experience of it hun, but wanted to say good luck for tomorrow.

How come there making you wait 3 weeks? That isn't good... they wanted me to have mine done on the day they told me.xxx

i was measuring 2 weeks ahead at 31 weeks then at 34 weeks i was right on que :) so im putting it down to either a growth spurt of dodgy midwifes measurments x

I have been booked in for a scan in 3 weeks time since they did my 20week scan. there were 2 midwives at my appointment, one said "should we try and get her in sooner for a scan" and the other (my assigned midwife) said no its ok leave it till the 3week appointment. I was kinda assuming they either werent THAT worried he is measuring too big or they know that they wouldnt have any appointments much sooner.

They didnt tell me how much bigger he was just that "i exceed the measurements for my dates" I Googled it and it says the cm measurement should be the same as your weeks, which means he measured 3cm too big at my 28week appointment (and they said nothing) and this time round he now measures 5cm too big. All my scans and blood tests have been fine, ive had no side affects throughout the whole pregnancy so kinda hoping she measured wrong or I have a lot of water etc.

I dont like that they can be so blase about these things, its almost like a throwaway comment "oh you may need another GTT he's measuring too big" do they not realise I'm going to sit and worry all the time now till the 34week scan??

I know making you wait all that time to put more stress on you and baby, 2cm either way is normal but 3 or more shouldn't be ignored at all. Where I'm 7cm more she was worried, which I am too, but even its prob just water..app is at 10 am today.. my stomach is really playing up with my nerves. I had a gtt test as well n same as you all clear n no problems throughout not even morning sickness.. apart from a hernia and uti thats all I had which is brilliant I think, considering some women suffer all the way through. Hopefully we both just got loads of water and with that the baby will flush out well and were have a nice easy birth ;)

good luck with yr appointment hun im sure bubs is having a lovely swim in lots of water !!

hope all is well. any news yet or is the appt on saturday?? i get confused with the uk times!
