i had a sonogram today and my baby is head down and the doctor said he will stay that way. since i am only 33 weeks, does this mean he may be here a few days early or ontime?

anyone have any advice or experience with this.

My baby has been head down since 26wks! He has also been engaged too and getting more and more engaged each appointment. At the last appointment he was 4-5/5ths engaged.. pretty much ready to go but nothing happening as yet!

It is hard to say when your baby will arrive but having his head down doesn't mean he will be early.

Mines been head down since 32 weeks and I am now 41weeks so no, doesn't mean early baby I'm afraid, I wish!! ;)

my first was head down and engaged quite well from 28 wks he arrived at 40+13 lol its a good thing little one is head down but for a first time it doesnt mean they will be here early at all,

second ,third or subsequent babies are often up and down all over the place and the mother still goes into labour, Ds2 wasnt near engaged when i went into early stage labour and was induced with him but he arrived in under 8 hours

haha i asked the same thing the answer is it dnt make a difference

No, they expect them to be head down at 33 weeks. Its when they're breech or transverse that they are bothered.

my baby has been head down since my 12 weeks scan which is very strange i think and hasnt moved still! I have a scan on monday and baby was so far down the ultrasound tech had to pull my pants right down pretty much and was all the way at the end of the bone on your vajaja lol to try and see the head. I was told at my 20 week scan that bubs will just pop right on out lol but it is definitely very uncomfortable and alot of pressure downstairs permanently which is not cool! I dont really know if it means bubs will come early just thought I would comment that your not alone.

My baby has been head down the whole time too, and very low at that. I dont think it means your more likely to have the baby early, just that you have a good baby in there. However, my first was head down all the way up to 37 weeks, then she turned footling breech, so just because their head down now, doesnt always mean it stays that way. I'm sure you'll be fine though xx
