35+2 minor cramps every 5 mins?

Hey ladies its 5.10am here and I'm wide awake with cramps like period pain cramps which last around a min each time, not major painful but uncomfortable they keep coming on every 5-10 mins I've been awake since half 4 with them although they are not what woke me it was my son oddly enough, he never wakes up this early :s I got up to go loo had a wee got back in bed then they hit, could they just be braxton hicks? Or is this the start? X

I'm not sure but didn't want to read and run! Have you tried moving about etc, as if they were braxton hicks they would most likely change? I'm would imagine that if you were contracting that close together the pains would be strong. . . But I'm a first time mum so Im unsure! Sorry! I would phone l&d if you're worried

I've been having the same thing for the past few nights, get the odd cramp during the day but much worse in the night. Spoken to my midwife about it and she said its braxton hicks but I don't know? I've been getting bh throughout my pregnancy but never been painful like this.

How are you now lovey ? Try walking around , drink a large glass of water & something to eat. If its BH they will go off. I have noticed the last few weeks if I need food I get crampy , it was always just thirst that set them off before, or a bad position xx update us

They died down around 6am enough to let me sleep, must have been BH otherwise I'm guessing they wouldn't have died down, just got a little freaked out tbh as that's the strongest they have been so far, thank you all for your replys x

Sometimes if I need a wee and get up quite quickly then lie down again I can get crampy ... Also I've niggled fairly regular pattern on & off since 31wks.... I didn't get BH with my first two babes. This one though has been crazy !!! I hope you stay settled for another few weeks ... Keep us updated

I have been feeling a lot of cramps and bh's too, and although they're not 'real' contractions they may be helping things start. I dilated 2cms last week So you may be very slowly helping things along!

Hmm I've still been getting them all day, all been uncomfortable but not painful, just went to loo and (sorry if tmi) went for a number 2 and was pushing quite hard then had a little mucus only a little and a few spots of blood when I wiped :s baby's still moving around a lot though so I know she's safe, I'm beginning to think this could be the start for me x
